The Innovation Analyst position is responsible for promoting and executing process improvement initiatives using data and technology as enablers for creative solutions. This position requires flexibility and agility to support all the various Ocean State Job Lot organizational business areas. We are looking for a problem solver that can understand complex business issues and deliver quick and effective solutions. This position requires ability to design, develop and implement technology solutions, strong written and oral communication skills, and ability to execute a high volume of initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work collaboratively with leadership throughout the company to ensure improvement initiatives are aligned with corporate strategies

  • Partner with departmental subject matter experts within various business units to identify opportunities and issues by becoming familiar with business data flows and processes

  • Consult with OSJL leadership teams to propose process improvement initiatives that provide sustainable solutions to immediate problems

  • Within project deadlines, efficiently research and recommend process and/or technology solutions, including in-house systems or 3rd party offerings

  • Partner with departmental associates to develop innovative solutions that can be deployed and measured in an accelerated timeline to positively impact company sales and operations

  • Transition solutions to appropriate business partners; monitor and report on effectiveness

  • Consult and partner with Business Intelligence Analysts on integration of solutions into corporate data analysis applications

  • Provide recommendations and updates to senior leadership regarding ongoing process improvement initiatives

  • The above duties will be performed with self-direction, independent judgment and minimal supervision

Requirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Technology, Business, or other relevant field

  • Education, training, or experience with Business Analysis with experience in Lean or Six Sigma preferred

  • Strong presentation, organizational, analytical, problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to prioritize, work creatively, and perform tasks in solving problems in time-critical situations working with internal clients and external partners

  • Strong understanding of software applications, databases, and integrations

  • Experience with software configuration and/or programming

  • Ability to work independently on multiple parallel projects

In addition, this role will participate in department projects as needed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Troubleshoot, analyze, develop, and maintain Supply Applications, procedures and other systems that satisfy the needs of the user departments * Monitor application health and performance * Analyze and develop necessary design work, including testing and documentation * Review, evaluate and implement requests from user departments * Analyze problems, determine cause and initiate corrective action * Develop clear and concise documentation * Maintain a high level of interaction with various parts of the business to continually enhance/improve business processes * Backup duties with other Analysts within Information Systems department * Coordinate and participate in both internal and external user group meetings * Demonstrate knowledge of and support corporate and department mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior Requirements EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: * Degree in Information Technology, Supply Chain, or similar * Prior business application support experience with enterprise applications and/or mission critical applications * Experience with one or more of the following systems: JDA, MMS, Allocation, WM, TMS * Prior experience of learning and becoming SME of complex applications such as WM, TMS, MMS, Allocation or Import systems * Basic knowledge in the following areas: * Windows desktop and server operating system * Knowledgeable of Relational Databases especially Microsoft SQL Server ATTRIBUTES: * Communicator: You possess strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearing in both written and spoken language. * Team Oriented: You are capable of embracing the ideas of others (even if they conflict with your own) for the sake of the company and client. * Self-motivated: You can work with a minimum of supervision and be capable of strategically prioritizing multiple tasks in a proactive manner. * Passionate: You must be passionate about collaboration and ensuring our clients are successful; we love seeing hunger and ambition.
