The Innovation Analyst position is responsible for promoting and executing process improvement initiatives using data and technology as enablers for creative solutions. This position requires flexibility and agility to support all the various Ocean State Job Lot organizational business areas. We are looking for a problem solver that can understand complex business issues and deliver quick and effective solutions. This position requires ability to design, develop and implement technology solutions, strong written and oral communication skills, and ability to execute a high volume of initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work collaboratively with leadership throughout the company to ensure improvement initiatives are aligned with corporate strategies
Partner with departmental subject matter experts within various business units to identify opportunities and issues by becoming familiar with business data flows and processes
Consult with OSJL leadership teams to propose process improvement initiatives that provide sustainable solutions to immediate problems
Within project deadlines, efficiently research and recommend process and/or technology solutions, including in-house systems or 3rd party offerings
Partner with departmental associates to develop innovative solutions that can be deployed and measured in an accelerated timeline to positively impact company sales and operations
Transition solutions to appropriate business partners; monitor and report on effectiveness
Consult and partner with Business Intelligence Analysts on integration of solutions into corporate data analysis applications
Provide recommendations and updates to senior leadership regarding ongoing process improvement initiatives
The above duties will be performed with self-direction, independent judgment and minimal supervision
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree in Technology, Business, or other relevant field
Education, training, or experience with Business Analysis with experience in Lean or Six Sigma preferred
Strong presentation, organizational, analytical, problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to prioritize, work creatively, and perform tasks in solving problems in time-critical situations working with internal clients and external partners
Strong understanding of software applications, databases, and integrations
Experience with software configuration and/or programming
Ability to work independently on multiple parallel projects
A positive, can-do attitude
