Year Round/ Full Time: a position averaging 35+ hours a week.

Room Attendants must be able to clean guest rooms to the expected standards, speed requirements, and detailed cleanliness level while offering exceptional guest service. Associates will work in a team atmosphere. Duties include: upkeep and presentation of rooms and other locations as assigned; dusting, vacuuming, polishing furniture, and sanitizing bathrooms; and responsibility for amenity replenishments. Duties may also include deep cleaning projects and/or floor care within areas as required. Attendants will also offer general assistance and support for the department, leadership, and the company.


  • Previous experience in a similar custodial/janitorial/housekeeping position is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will have had six (6) months of previous housekeeping experience in an upscale/luxury hotel or resort.

  • Commitment to delivering world class guest service and the ability to work successfully as part of a dynamic, guest-service oriented team.

  • Outstanding attention to detail and the ability to perform essential job functions with speed and accuracy.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to handle/operate safely small commercial cleaning equipment, chemicals, solutions, and treatments.

  • Ability to be proactive and take initiative as appropriate.

  • Should be able to anticipate and understand guest needs.

  • Ability to work independently and under deadlines, and exercise good judgment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift, carry, push and pull 2550 pounds frequently.

  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders.

  • Endure various physical movements throughout work areas and over duration of work shift such as kneeling, bending, stooping, reaching overhead, etc.

  • Ability to work in an environment that may include:

  • Variable conditions and noise levels

  • Outdoor environments with fluctuations in temperature and weather conditions

  • Exposure to fumes, dust and chemicals, moving mechanical parts

Essential Job Duties:
1.Accept and complete daily assignments while maintaining proper time management skills and exceptional performance.
2.Proper storage, replacement and placement of guest room amenities and linens.
3.Make up beds in guest rooms following standards; dust and vacuum guest rooms.
4.Proper storage and usage of cleaning chemicals maintaining safety measures.
5.Cleaning and sanitizing of guest bathrooms, mirrors and windows, using proper chemicals.
6.Emptying trash and disposing of properly.
7.Remove cap from used water bottles and place plastic bottle in recycle bag on cart.
8.Stocking and cleaning housekeeping cart.
9.Deep cleaning the rooms as necessary.

The Housekeeping Houseperson at the Inn on Biltmore Estate is responsible for assisting and supporting room attendants in the maintenance and cleanliness of guest areas and rooms in accordance with both hotel and four star/diamond standards. Duties include, but are not limited to: removal and storage of dirty linen and trash from room attendant carts and hallways; providing room attendants with timely service and clean materials; and handing guest deliveries to rooms and special requests. Requirements: * Previous experience in housekeeping and/or custodial, janitorial, or related field strongly preferred. * Knowledge of hotel housekeeping and/or rooms operations preferred. * Commitment to delivering world class guest service and anticipating guest needs. * Knowledge of proper chemical handling and cleaning techniques helpful. * Proven ability to multi-task effectively, work as part of a team and under deadlines, and exercise good judgment. Must be able to prioritize. * Excellent attention to detail is a must. * Ability to be proactive and take initiative as appropriate. * Solid communication skills. Must be able to respond appropriately to guest requests. * Ability to operate/use small commercial cleaning equipment. Physical Requirements: * Able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 75 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally (with assistance). * Endure various physical movements throughout the work area; must be able to kneel, stoop, bend, reach overhead and below. * Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time throughout the shift; may occasionally work in locations where the ability to climb ladders or stairs would be required. Essential Job Duties: 1. Pick up dirty linen and deliver to appropriate area. 2. Place dirty linen in proper bins and keep laundry room organized; deliver clean linen and supplies to room attendants on the guest floors in a timely manner. 3. Remove trash from carts, hallways, and storage areas and dispose of properly. 4. Properly wash glasses and cups, and deliver to room attendants on the guest floors. 5. Vacuum and dust guest hallways polishing woodwork and stainless steel as needed. 6. Maintain clean and safe stairwells as assigned, including sweeping, mopping, and dusting; keep service elevators and landings clean. 7. Keep closets and storage areas stocked, neat, clean and organized. 8. Clean vending areas, including ice machines, and beverage machines. 9. Perform guest deliveries to rooms as assigned. 10.
