POSITION SUMMARY:

Assists in the set up and operation of the rotogravure printing press to print designs on rolls of flexible film by performing the following duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure personal compliance with all company Quality System, Operational, and Human Resource policies, procedures, and practices, including Safety and housekeeping procedures.

  • Mixes inks to produce desired colors.

  • Fills ink pans with prescribed inks.

  • Inventory control of all raw material inks, used inks, and solvents.

  • Prepares cylinders for upcoming job.

  • Reads job order and installs cylinders into press.

  • Prepare rolls of film to be spliced on press.

  • Starts press, adjusting speed, tension, and alignment of cylinders as necessary

  • Cuts sample of printed material from end of printed roll and inspects for imperfections, such as blurred or off-center impressions.

  • Cleans cylinders and lubricates press as needed. Covers for press helper during breaks and vacation.

  • Responsible for press clean-up and transfer to waste to the satellite accumulation container.

  • Participates in on-going training opportunities and supports a continuous quality improvement environment

  • Review work instructions and procedures that are applicable to the position

  • Other duties as assigned by management and supervisors.

HAZARDOUS WASTE RESPONSIBILITIES

This individual is responsible for handling and disposing of any hazardous waste associated with printing and laminating processes in accordance with county, state and/or federal guidelines. waste contingency plan alternate

  • Place hazardous waste into correct containers.

  • Label and mark hazardous waste containers properly.

  • Place hazardous waste containers in storage area.

  • Obtain containers for hazardous waste storage.

  • Handle hazardous waste containers properly including keeping waste containers closed when not in used and grounding and bonding during the transfer of flammables.

  • Respond appropriately to hazardous waste emergencies and spills.

  • Performs weekly inspection of all containers, underground storage tank and the associated leak detection system and floor integrity.

  • Annual Hazardous Waste Management Training.

  • Contingency Plan Training.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-3 years color-matching experience.

  • Ability to communicate with all levels of staff.

  • Must be available to work 12-hour shifts and work weekends as needed.

While performing the functions of this job, the employee is occasionally required to sit; use hands to ginger, handle or feel; talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific abilities required for this job include close vision and color-correct vision.

VIEW JOBS 11/29/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-27T00:00 Hours: Rotating Nights 6:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m. (Work every other weekend) POSITION SUMMARY: This position is under the direct supervision of the Shift Lead. As a packer you are responsible for the packing and testing of pouches as they come off the spout machine. The Packer must work closely with the Machine Operator, Quality Control Team and Customer Service Team to assure that all production objectives are efficiency achieved. Must be comfortable working in fast-paced enviornment while maintaining strict quality standards. Schedule rotates bi-weekly: Work Mon/Tue, off Wed/Thu, work Fri/Sat/Sun. The following week you only work Wed/Thu. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Ensure efficient production of a quality product on a day-to-day basis. * Ensure that the pouching machinery is working properly and safely. * Monitor the quality of the material being processed to ensure compliance to company and customer quality specifications. Seek assistance from your operator on any quality issue during run. If operator is busy, contact your supervisor. * Accurately complete all required paperwork, reports, and quality records associated with pouch operations. * Alert Quality Control of any suspected material non-conformances. * Keep your work area clean at all times. Be proactive in you housekeeping. Blow out machine before shift changes. If you see something that needs attention, do it before being told to. Always maintain a clean and safe work area at all times. * Pack products neatly in the cartons and stack them neatly on the skids. If you need assistance seek help from your operator. * Prepare new cartons as needed for job run. * Communicate with the next shift for any special instructions, (reason why you couldn't get samples, machine problems, things to look for in quality, etc...) * Participate with peers and supervisors in addressing problem areas, planning, methods and operating procedures. * Track departmental supplies, and notify manufacturing supervisor when supplies are needed. * Perform other assignments as requested by Ampac Management. Qualifications: * High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work history. * Meticulous, high attention to detail. * Works well in fast-paced environment. * Good verbal & written communication skills. * Ability to read a tape measure in millimeters. * Flexibility with availability when production needs require working overtime.
