Position Overview:

Protolabs is looking to add a product marketing manager to lead its injection molding marketing strategies and tactics in the Americas. This individual will work in a highly matrix environment, and collaborate cross-functionally with product management, sales, engineering, and customer service in order to develop marketing strategies that will continue to deliver double digit revenue growth for Protolabs' unique digital manufacturing service offering in the Americas.

Specific Duties Include:

  • Work with rest of marketing and product management team to develop a marketing plan for Protolabs' injection molding service, including key activities and budgets to support new customer acquisition and retention of existing customers.

  • Act as a conduit between product management and marketing communications during product launches and go-to-market planning.

  • Lead service messaging and value prop work that positions Protolabs' molding capabilities in a differentiated and market-leading way.

  • Monitor and compare competitors' marketing strategies across multitude of channels, including digital (paid/organic/social) as well as traditional (tradeshows/events/PR) in order to ensure market/service leadership and differentiation across all of the key segments.

  • Gain intimate customer persona knowledge and understanding of how Protolabs' unique value proposition applies across multiple use cases; Socialize this knowledge with the rest of the marketing team and ensure adequate interpretation in content development, messaging, positioning, etc.

  • Ensure all marketing messages articulate the right value and are relevant to intended audiences/personas.

  • Collaborate with other marketing and product management members to develop innovative marketing campaigns in order to raise awareness for Protolabs' injection molding capabilities, generate demand, and ultimately drive revenue results.

  • Use data analytics to suggest the right level of marketing spend per channel, per persona, per tactic, per segment.

  • Partner with sales and rest of marketing team to ensure the right type of sales enablement tools and resources needed for revenue attainment

  • Understand and document customer/buyer journey, including where they get information, and the who, what, when and why behind every key decision.

  • Accountable for partnering with sales, product management, and other cross-functional teams to ensure the attainment of service-level metrics, such as prospects, opportunities, and revenue.

  • Participate in cross-functional demand planning process to ensure forecasting model accuracy and revenue attainment.

  • Collaborate with content marketing team to identify content opportunities that drive service-specific business opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 7 years of product marketing experience, preferably in technical/engineering field

  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office tools and Salesforce/CRM

  • Proven track record in using multiple marketing channels and tactics to raise awareness, drive demand, and deliver revenue

  • B2B and/or e-Commerce experience highly desired

  • Keen focus on customer-centric and data-driven approach to problem solving

  • Strong knowledge or familiarity with marketing automation tools, Google Analytics, Data Studio, Moz or other SEO tools

  • Power user of networking tools like LinkedIn, Twitter and industry blogs/forums

  • Excellent people skills with ability to interact at all levels of the organization, including colleagues, cross-functional peers, executives, customers, and third parties

  • Strong technical aptitude and desire to learn more

  • High interest in manufacturing technologies, product design/development, and/or other similar engineering disciplines

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business/Marketing, MBA preferred

The Senior Marketing Specialist - Events works closely with other members of the marketing team, sales, customer service and product management teams, as well as external partners. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, solution-driven, a strategic thinker, and is able to multi-task in a fast-paced workplace environment. Specific Duties Include: * Make recommendations to Marketing Manager on the annual event strategy, plan and budget, working with other business leaders to plan messaging, experience and goals. * Create an experiential event strategy as well as build and execute all events from start to finish. * Drive demand by creating a customer experience that delights and engages, builds the brand, and extends our reach through content marketing and digital technology. * Develop and analyze event leads and follow-up programs, constantly testing new ways to drive more leads. * Collaborate with the creative team to expand and extend reach through digital events, using new, curated or complementary content. Exhibit strong understanding of various digital and virtual event technologies and applicability to different programs. * Establish and manage budgets to maximize return on marketing investment by optimizing efforts through iteration and experimentation. * Manage all event speaking sessions including working with executives, product and sales teams on selecting topics and creation of presentations. * Create promotion plans and other sponsorship opportunities in support of Protolabs presence at key events including website listing updates, targeted pre-/post-show emails and social media. * Develop and own methodology for measuring success and ROI for each event, leading to improvement measures or future participation decisions * Perform other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: * 5+ years of successful event marketing experience, ideally in corporate events, tradeshows and webinars * Proven experience in virtual events and webinars * Exceptional interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and organization skills; ability to successfully influence and work effectively in a team environment * Self-starter with the ability to work independently, using initiative to overcome obstacles and complete tasks within the allotted time * Experience with CRM, spreadsheets, database applications, webinar and event platforms, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point and databases) * Able to travel up to 40% (Post Covid) Education Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communication, Business or related area Physical Demands: While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use a computer keyboard, monitor and mouse, telephone and printer; reach with hands, and arms, talk, see and hear.
