How You'll Make An Impact

Every role at BlenderBottle is critical to our successful functioning as a whole. As In-house Counsel you will provide creative and proactive legal guidance. The right person for this role must have a strong entrepreneurial spirit, a desire to contribute to a constantly evolving business and be motivated to learn the company's business. Your specific responsibilities as a part of our team will be based on the business's needs as well as your expertise. Title will be determined based on the level of experience. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborate and build relationships with internal stakeholders and outside counsel.

  • Contribute to process improvement.

  • Stay on top of changing laws, regulations, and industry standards.

  • Develop and implement practices and standards that support innovation and growth while maintaining appropriate commercial risk.

  • Assesses, manage and anticipate organizational risk and support the company's business with prompt, sound legal advice.

  • Communicate potential issues clearly and concisely to stakeholders, to resolve in a timely manner.

  • Anything else that arises to support a fast-pace, innovative company.

What You'll Bring to the Team

We seek employees who are adept at contributing their personal expertise to a collaborative work environment. For this role, we're looking for someone with the following qualifications, skills and experience:

  • JD from an accredited U.S. law school.

  • Member of the Utah State Bar in good standing or eligible for admission as House Counsel in Utah.

  • 5-10 years of relevant post-law school legal experience, with a strong preference for experience in an in-house legal department.

  • Demonstrated ability to independently perform at least one of these functions:

  • Manage global patent and trademark portfolios as well as oversee outside counsel handling patent and trademark preparation, prosecution, and enforcement; or

  • Advise the company on product safety, product liability, and regulatory compliance.

  • Preferably can independently advise the company in at least one of the following areas:

  • Patents, including invention harvesting, assessing patentability, developing and implementing global patent strategy, and advising the company on avoidance of others' patents; or

  • Trademarks, including counseling on trademark selection, assessing registrability and ability to use, and developing and implementing global trademark strategy.

  • Proficiency in preparing and reviewing

  • Excellent negotiation, written and verbal communication, and research skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.

  • Deadline driven, capable of managing multiple critical projects; excellent organization and time management skills.

  • Quick thinking with superior analytical ability and strong attention to detail.

  • Robust computer skills.

  • Be a positive, can-do team player; remain positive, professional, calm and focused; create associations of trust and respect with key stakeholders.

  • Strong record of sound business judgment while representing clients under tight timeframes.

  • Experience providing legal services to a consumer products company preferred.
