Responsibilities

The Standard is on a multi-year program to modernize key infrastructure and business systems as well as transform how we deploy and operate key Infrastructure systems. These programs are in flight now and we have an immediate need for a team member to help drive the Infrastructure components. You will be working with a team of Infrastructure Engineers and other discipline Engineers. Together you will provide design, automation implementation, capacity planning, and Engineering level support of a suite of Infrastructure products.

As an Infrastructure Engineer you will help set the direction for the various environments in partnership with the Enterprise Architects and our Developer community. You will work with multiple large-scale upgrade/migration projects including Hyperconverged infrastructure, VMware environment, Storage as well as RHEL and Windows Server operating systems. Position will also provide mentorship and technical support to our Infrastructure operations teams, create and maintain system documentation, drive next generation Identity management for our customers, and help drive automation into our infrastructure.

Additionally, the position involves research, tool development and documentation for future infrastructure environments. The successful candidate will provide escalation services to the core production support team in the form of performance diagnostics expertise, best practices reviews and driving efficiency programs. In this position, candidates will be resolving complex issues involving infrastructure products.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience administering enterprise Infrastructure platforms

  • Curious and driven to acquire new skills autonomously.

  • Experience working with one or more of the following:

  • Nutanix, AHV & VMware, VCenter

  • Azure

  • RHEL and Windows Server Operating Systems

  • VMware, VCenter, docker

  • Netapp

  • Strong experience with automation methodologies and processes

  • Development experience with dynamic languages, like Python, Ruby, etc.

  • Configuration management with Ansible, etc.

  • Test driven development and deployment.

  • Agile

  • Strong, proven performance diagnostic skills

  • Provide support and training to infrastructure operations teams, local and offshore.

  • Self-starter with an innate ability to adapt to change and motivated to champion the continuous improvement

  • Demonstrably solid written and verbal communication skills to drive projects to successful conclusion.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline or equivalent work experience.

General Description Perform at a professional journeyman level in a highly critical environment, requiring the utmost level of concentration and exacting well planned actions. Will perform a variety of complex services in a highly-specialized building systems facility. Will perform daily in a well planned and executed fashion sharing in the sense of urgency surrounding mission critical operations and facilities. This is a day time position during regular business hours. The primary focus of this role will be electrical, HVAC and UPS operation experience. We are looking for someone with expert level experience in switchgear and UPS Ops. Responsibilities: * 24x7 facility on-call responsibility. * Monitor the buildings HVAC, mechanical, Fire Suppression and electrical systems. * Perform preventive maintenance and site surveys. * Oversee vendor facility maintenance. * Read and interpret blueprints, engineering specifications, project plans and other technical documents. * Perform operation, installation, and servicing of peripheral devices. * Oversee and assist with equipment start-ups, repairs and overhauls. * Perform emergency response and equipment repair. * Install, or oversee, the installation of power for customer orders and other electrical modifications as assigned while maintaining a safe work environment * Maintain data center documentation as assigned, i.e., Run Books, layouts, and diagrams. * Prepare Maintenance Window documentation for work to be performed. * Assist with off-hours and weekend maintenance activities when required. * Assist with Preparation of reports on System and Facility performance. * Assist with Preparation of reports on customer utilization including space and power. * Assist with Shift Coverage when required * Perform other duties as assigned by management.
