Infrastructure Engineer Specialist

Position Overview:

The Infrastructure Engineer Specialist position will reside within the Service Delivery Management in Enterprise Technology Services. The selected candidate will work very closely with the Compute, Middleware, Database & Networking Teams to provision Application environment(s) and deliver the projects. The candidate will lead all phases of project infrastructure deliverables from project inception to implementation. The position will also provide the planning, engineering, and delivery of business scalable infrastructure solutions to meet project timeline and needs while ensuring design compliance and enforcement of Taxonomy / Technology Bricks & Environment Management Standards.

Responsibilities Include:

  • The position will be responsible to ensure that the objectives of the Engineering Aligned resources within Service Delivery Management team are met.

  • Work with Application Solution Architect team and Enterprise Architect Team to clearly document the end-to-end application architecture including the upstream and downstream transaction flows and dependencies on core data center and infrastructure solutions.

  • Update TPI (Technology Portfolio Insight) with accurate environment data for IT application foot print and help accurately maintain TCO.

  • Directly work with Engineering & Architecture teams to ensure successful delivery of solutions in the areas of Virtualization, Cloud Computing, Business Continuality Planning/Disaster Recovery solutions in-line with business needs and technology road maps.

  • Collaborative responsibilities will include the coordination with Enterprise Technology Services for the design, build and production readiness of IT solutions and the development of valid business cases and coordination with Technical Services service lines to ensure implementation of best practices for infrastructure governance, architecture, engineering, production support and service Management.

  • Communicate effectively with Business Technology Officers to identify the needs and evaluate alternative technical solutions and strategies.

  • Continually define ways to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships.

  • Review infrastructure changes and communicate impact to business.

  • Review Infrastructure Projects and communicate impact to business and help with providing LOEs for the project.

Basic Requirements:

  • 7 - 10yrs professional experience in information technology

  • BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Expert level understanding of Microsoft Windows Server, Redhat Linux, server virtualization in the cloud, on premise, and in hybrid environments.

  • Good understanding of 3-Tier Architecture

  • Experience in championing change and effectively managing project/program implementation

  • Advanced knowledge of project implementation, infrastructure engineering

  • Advanced skill in communications and managing teams in a matrix environment

  • Understanding of HA and DR concepts as they apply to Infrastructure Designs

  • Experience with Legacy to Current Infrastructure migrations

  • As an individual contributor, responsible for designing, sizing & scaling infrastructure solutions for Application projects

Preferred Skills:

  • Working knowledge of corporate governance policies and procedures

  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint 2013/2016 and intranet site administration tools

  • Superior oral and written communications skills

  • Ability to work independently and effectively with continuous change and short deadlines

  • Demonstrated business acumen, problem solving skills, intellectual maturity, and relationship management skills

  • Experience with AWS/Azure Cloud
