Infrastructure Engineer

Job Description

  • Configuring systems to support connectivity, performance and reliability.

  • Resolve a variety of system issues including connectivity, routing, bandwidth, latency, performance degradation across all sites.

  • Provide emergency response and assistance for all necessary system problems and issues.

  • Provide strategic planning for the improvement of the company infrastructure as they relate to client needs, business continuity, and disaster recovery.

  • Monitor, analyze and evaluate the performance and capacity levels of all systems. Perform minor adjustments when necessary, and plan and schedule major adjustments and modifications when warranted.

  • Provide pre-sales support as needed to ensure solutions being offered can be sold and managed in our environment

  • Document and maintain accurate configuration information and infrastructure schematics of all systems and dependencies. Log all issue and work in the companies back end systems.

  • Manage support staff of two people one in NJ the other in CA

Desired Skill and Experience

  • 4+ Years working with Virtualization Technology and understanding of both competing technologies (VMWARE, HYPERV)

  • 4+ Years working with a SAN

  • 4+ years Windows Server OS and Active Directory (Branch Cache, DFS, Domain Trust, etc.)

  • 2+ years of experience with Office 365

  • 2+ Year working with Avaya Phone System

  • 2+ Years working with a Linux operating system

  • 2+ Years working with a programming or scripting language

  • 2+ years of experience planning, designing, implementing, supporting, and

troubleshooting networking environments.

  • 3+ Years of experience working with Barracuda Firewalls

  • 2+ Years of experience installing and configuring Cisco Router and Switches

  • 2+ years of experience with a variety of networking protocols and technologies.

  • 1+ Year with Multicast

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred for this position

  • Technological Certifications (CCNA, MCSE)

  • No relocation is offered for this position; therefore, local candidates are preferred.

  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Must be high energy, analytical and detail oriented

  • Self Motivated and Curious with aptitude and drive for learning new software and

Looking for a Sr. Automation/Process Control Engineering Professional with strong foundation in DCS (DeltaV). DSM is seeking a Sr. Automation/Process Control Engineer to support our multi-site plant in Belvidere, NJ. The Challenge To improve site performance and/or reduce site manufacturing costs by: initiating and driving optimization and improvement of the site by providing broad and in depth technological expertise for current automation processes and interfacing with Operations, Technology and Business Partners to anticipate and propose solutions for current and future business/site needs. What you do in the role of Sr. Automation/Process Control Engineer: * Analyze processes and equipment requirements and develop scope of work for Improve Plant Projects in the Automation/Process Control area. * Identify, prioritize and manage plant automation process issues and cost drivers by analyzing performance using data driven statistical methods and RCA (Root Cause Analysis) techniques to identify the cause-and-effect relationship. * Deliver high level automation technology and engineering expertise for all operating areas on the site. Takes on challenges that go beyond the customers (production areas) abilities to solve. * Has innovative ideas and thinks "outside the box" or beyond traditional boundaries in order to identify solutions to improve that have not been used before. Creates new concepts that are not obvious to others and not learned from previous education or experience to explain situations or resolve problems. Looks at things in a really new way – breakthrough thinking. * Uses a long-term perspective to ensure sustainability and adjusts approach accordingly. Becomes involved in a customer's decision-making process. Recommends approaches which are new and different from those requested. * Takes specific actions to keep skills up-to-date with the most current requirements. Actively seeks learning opportunities from other specialty areas in order to become a broader resource to the team. Ensures as part of this that engineering hours are properly accounted to capital projects. * Execute feasibility studies and plant trials in support of plant problems, opportunities, product development and technological innovations. Consults and advises other engineering and operations colleagues on automation aspects of their own individual projects. * Develop and lead projects within the Improve Plant Work Process and ensure handover to appropriate work process. Responsible to see all active projects are managed in the established Trackwise/IP processes.
