This role will serve as part of an infrastructure resiliency team supporting Windows, Unix/Linux, Storage, Networking, Virtualization etc.

Under significant supervision, participate as a highly skilled member on a team of IT Client Server Engineers, assisting in the designing, planning, testing and implementation phases of Client Server projects as assigned by the Client Server Management. Take secondary role in installing, configuring, troubleshooting, testing and documenting Client Server systems and software in a laboratory environment.

Assist in efforts related to the successful implementation of Client Server systems into production while following BB&T standards and procedures. Work within existing relationships with key support partners, line of business representatives and vendors. Assist in implementation of complex medium to large scale enterprise projects.

Assist in development of innovative improvements. Participate in investigating, evaluating and incorporating best practices based on knowledge of environment.

Assist in production support, including problem identification and description, ticket documentation, customer/vendor dialogue and root cause analysis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1.Participate in efforts related to designing, planning, enhancing, and testing all distributed systems platforms used throughout the enterprise including base-lining current systems, trend analysis and capacity planning as required for future systems requirements.
2.Participate in technical assessment, research, and testing of new technologies as requested using client server design, automation, and scripting best practices and procedures.
3.Participate in the analysis of information to determine, recommend, and plan the use of computers and peripheral equipment, or modifications to existing equipment and systems that will provide capability for proposed project or work load, efficient operation and effective use of allotted resources.
4.Provide third level technical support of Client Server systems providing problem analysis and resolution in a timely manner.
5.Participate in all areas of technology management, systems development or systems implementation as assigned.

Required Skills and Competencies:

1.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or relevant field, or equivalent education and related training (Associate's degree in computer science or information technology with 2 years of experience working in IT infrastructure).
2.An understanding of applied enterprise computing technology - should have exposure to or experience with Windows, Linux/Unix, Networking, Storage or Virtualization
3.An understanding of data flow, mainframe/client server systems, problem analysis and systems tuning
4.Adept with network interfaces and technologies
5.Experienced with multiple programming/script languages
6.Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office software products
7.Ability to travel, occasionally overnight

Role Overview This position is an entry-level Mechanical Engineer. Participates in product development activities, executes tests, and produces parts, designs, or sketches, following all appropriate Mechanical Engineering design, safety, and qualification standards. Primary Responsibilities: * Participate in product development activities including cost estimates, implementation of standard specifications, drawing board * layout, and development of performance or maintenance requirements. * Execute tests for systems, sub-systems, and components. Analyze test results in relation to design or rated specifications and test * objectives. * Follow all appropriate design, safety, and qualification standards in development programs. * Test models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess operating condition effects. * Produce parts, designs, or sketches for machines, components, systems or work orders / purchase requests * Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems in areas including, but not limited to, mechanical, * thermal, hydraulic, thermodynamic, or heat transfer for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. * Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, * controls, engines, and/or machines. * May evaluate and analyze various mechanical products to determine their cost-effectiveness and efficiency. * May evaluate field installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate malfunctions.
