Infrastructure Architect

The IT department at MACOM is looking to hire an Infrastructure Architect to be an integral part of the Infrastructure team. An eligible candidate needs to be passionate about technology and know-how to meet infrastructure and business needs best. The Infrastructure Architect will utilize and maintain existing technologies along with establishing effective processes to provide the highest levels of system availability. An outgoing and can-do attitude is essential to complement the rest of IT.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Managing and maintaining the company's IT server and storage infrastructure.

  • Monitoring and troubleshooting servers and applications; Working closely with 3rd party support vendors.

  • Deploying and configuring server applications and tools.

  • Build and deploy both physical and virtual servers for production and non-production environments.

  • Break-fix and troubleshooting for Server, Storage and network (optional ) hardware

  • Collaborating with developers and other members of the IT team.

  • Ensuring the reliability of those systems.

  • Evaluate, develop, and implement processes and procedures for streamlining and standardizing the server and storage environments.

  • Escalation point for SysOps L3 IT incidents and helpdesk tickets

  • Occasional Travel to MACOM sites for IT project support

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related discipline.

  • At least 7 years of professional relevant in-field experience working onsite at a data center and/or a System Administrator role.

  • Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.

  • Knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP; Comfortable with basic networking.

  • Knowledge of Dell server hardware. Including RAID storage configurations, memory, and chassis expansions and troubleshooting.

  • Knowledge of scripting language (Powershell, BASH, Python, etc.).

  • Managing and scheduling maintenance and configuration changes.

  • Knowledge of VMware/ESXi and Nutanix.

  • Storage administration experience.

  • Certifications in relevant technologies.

  • Hands-on experience with installation of Servers, switches, filers in server rooms/data centers.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrates strong work ethic.

  • Ability to work independently and in teams reaching high levels of productivity.

  • Because this position is part of a business unit that contracts with the U.S. government, qualified candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident.

Other Special Skills that would be a plus:

  • Experience working within the Semiconductor Industry

  • Working experience with Networking and Security.
