The Impact You'll Make in this Role

As an Infrastructure analyst you will work to implement server and storage designs within the regions, including plants, for on-prem and edge workloads. This will include server and storage hardware, hyper converged infrastructure (HCI), hypervisors, and the x86 operating systems.

As an Infrastructure Analyst, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Assisting sites with "factory of the future" infrastructure projects

  • Managing projects with excellent communications and interpersonal skills

  • Acting as a liaison between Operations Support, Technical Services, and management

  • Producing and maintaining processes, procedures, and documentation

  • Functioning as a technical leader and providing architectural guidance, procurement of server resources, depending on the project scope

  • Analyzing trend data in various performance tools (i.e. perfmon, SCOM, vROps, vCenter) for changes in server performance and operating characteristics

  • Enforcing infrastructure policies and standards, including license management

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

  • Associates or Two (2) year technical degree/diploma (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

  • Two (2) years Microsoft Windows Server or Linux experience in a private, public, military or government environment

  • Two (2) years virtualization tools (i.e. VMware) experience

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, BCIS, or equivalent

  • Project management experience

  • Python programing experience

  • Server and storage hardware and networking background

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

Location: Woodbury, MN preferred and may consider remote U.S. work location

Travel: May include up to 20% domestic

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

VIEW JOBS 8/17/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-11-15T00:00 Essential Duties: * Perform advanced level in complexity system configurations based on templates while also creating and maintaining template repository. * Perform deployment and troubleshooting of advanced level in complexity triages. * Design advanced to complex orchestration and automation processes for the facilitation of rapid prototyping, testing, and deployment of new software and enhancements. * Design and set standards for setup related to computing, storing and securing environments while leveraging an infrastructure as code approach for a hybrid cloud environment. * Monitor and develop cost control measures for leveraging public cloud resources. * Develop and streamline resource metering and management tools across hybrid cloud environments. * Review results of vulnerability scans and vendor security bulletins for categorization of severity according to the Vulnerability management policy. * Design runbook plan by application and technology stack for failover and business continuity procedures. * Define SOPs for maintenance windows that include impact statements, communication plans, rollback procedures etc. * Develop and maintain onboarding plans, learning sessions, etc. for team or cross function teams. * Attend and contribute to CRB or road map meetings as requested or needed. * Assist sales, account management or other internal teams with current or prospective Member/Customers regarding to security, reliability, availability, etc. related issues or concerns/questions. * Consult with information security team to develop best practices related to critical controls and other compliance related frameworks. * May be requested to mentor other team members. * Other duties as assigned. * Commitment to NISC's Statement of Shared Values. * Participate in on-call support rotation on evenings and weekends. Perform occasional after-hours maintenance tasks.
