The Information Security Operations Monitoring Supervisor is regarded as a Security subject matter expert (SME) and leader within the IT department. This position will be responsible for leading the Monitoring team, address higher level efforts impacting this team and serve as a point of contact for project teams needing security guidance or direction, as well as leading other system analysts in effectively monitoring and mitigating alerts, designing, and implementing technical solutions, while enforcing compliance with ABC policies and standards. The supervisor will also serve as a key member of the Computer Incident Response Team (CIRT).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performance Management
Identification and Response
Review and respond to security monitoring alerts and reported incidents as deemed credible in accordance with Incident handling procedures, providing tasks for remediation, ensure follow through, and provide reports to management.
Serve as escalation point and incident response manger to keep stakeholders informed.
Team Leadership, Planning, and Organization
Provides hands-on team leadership in ensuring security standards are implemented across all ABC environments, including solutioning, configuration, implementation, troubleshooting, researching, and fine tuning where applicable.
Monitors team efforts and goals and create primary and secondary solutions to ensure efforts are completed in a timely manner in line with milestones.
Evaluates candidates for open positions on the monitoring team.
Review and approve work of other monitoring analysts
Uses time effectively to increase productivity
Meets established milestones and business goals consistently
Manages workload to focus on priorities
Communication
Keeps coworkers and stakeholder informed on status of efforts or incidents
Exhibits objectivity and openness to other views
Participates in hiring decisions as needed to evaluated candidate technical and communication skills
Provides input to management regarding improvements, status updates and changes as needed
Organizational Support
Work as key member of project teams to provide ongoing support for projects that require security input and expertise.
Ensure InfoSec requirements are implemented in key projects where appropriate.
Information Security Officer (ISO) assistance
Assist in audits and Security Assessments of ABC systems
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in Managing/mentoring a team of technical professionals.
Experience in Windows and Linux.
Experience in Active Directory security configuration.
Experience in Azure and Azure AD.
Experience in monitoring/alerting and Intrusion detection systems.
Experience in Disaster recovery, networking protocols, and encryption.
Experience in Firewall configuration management.
Experience in Incident response.
Familiarity with NIST 800-53
Certifications
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience leading and mentoring teams.
Experience in monitoring environments for active threats
Education - degree in Information Systems or a related field
