Position Summary:

The Information Security Awareness & Engagement Specialist is responsible for developing, promoting, improving, and ensuring company-wide Information Security training and awareness. Measurably reduces phishing risk by driving development of consequence models, trainings, and simulations. This position ensures the performance of all duties in accordance with the company's policies and procedures, all U.S. state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the company operates.

Responsibilities:

  • Interfaces with the architecture team and other functional areas to propose the most efficient solution. Presents solutions to senior architects and engineering leaders.

  • Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others

  • Creates and implements code for a product, service, or feature, reusing code as applicable.

  • Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems

  • Contribute efforts to collect, classify, and analyze data with little oversight on a range of metrics (e.g., health of the system, where bugs might be occurring).

  • Assists in the planning and design of new or upgraded systems. Interacts with departments to implement improvements in process.

  • Develops, documents and ensures compliance with best practices including but not limited to the following: data management, coding standards, object-oriented designs, cloud-delivery patterns, platform and framework specific design concerns, and human interface guidelines.

  • Manages security awareness training, workshops, and phishing simulation campaigns for competency development.

  • Crafts and develops long-term Cybersecurity Awareness strategy using a data driven approach to align with greatest company threats and areas for training improvement.

  • Develops and utilizes a metrics framework to analyze data for areas of focus, evaluate success of training and awareness initiatives and educate executives on current and future training and awareness needs.

  • Works with HR and other relevant stakeholders to create methods for identification of high-risk users and consequence models for Security training non-compliance and simulation failures.

  • Manages and administrates training and awareness tools. Evaluates the effectiveness of existing information security training, education, and awareness initiatives/activities and ensures security awareness information is updated on regular basis and reflects the latest security trends and threats.

  • Ensures that the information security awareness program communicates appropriately and timely utilizing Corporate Communications best practices.

  • Stays up to date on latest security trends and threats in the industry and within the company to develop effective training plans for the organization.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of six (6) years' experience working in Information Security or similar field (Technology, Communications, Training).

  • Minimum of three (3) + years of experience driving training and awareness programs or similar preferred.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of, adherence to, monitoring and responsibility for compliance with state and federal regulations and laws as they pertain to this position.

  • Demonstrates understanding of core information security principles and controls.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of corporate communications and practical knowledge of different message distribution techniques to ensure end user communities understand and continually apply the required behavioral changes necessary to reduce the human factors risk.

  • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Intermediate skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Effective organizational and time management skills.

  • Experience implementing and improving phishing simulation programs.

  • Experience planning and implementing Information Security Awareness program elements and/or role-based training programs.

  • Experience distilling complex technology or policy concepts into plain language required.

  • Experience creating messaging materials and working collaboratively with cross-functional groups required.

  • Experience building outreach programs across multiple lines of business to design and implement training plans and track organizational progress, development and metrics and managing stakeholder relationships within those efforts.

  • A plus: Experience implementing and managing KnowBe4 platform.

  • A plus to have any of the following certifications: U.S. Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US), Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT), Certified Information Security Manager(CISM), or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).

Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay for this roles is between $106,000 and $150,000. Your base pay will depend on multiple individualized factors, including your job-related knowledge/skills, qualifications, experience, and market location.
