Key Responsibilities

  • Defines and implements information security strategies and procedures.

  • Works with engineering teams to define and refine information security and systems management policies and settings.

  • Monitors and assesses vendor and 3rd party information security reports/lists

  • Evaluates new and emerging products, technologies and make recommendations to leadership concerning introduction of new technologies.

  • Reviews, prioritizes and recommends information security improvements as they relate to the achievement of Dell SecureWorks business goals and objectives.

  • Coordinates, administers, manages and monitors the use of access control systems security tools and intrusion detection systems to identify anomalous events and security infractions that exploit system vulnerabilities

  • Integrates information security controls into an environment to identify risks and reduce their impact.

  • Provides analysis of potential risk to information security and recommends solutions

  • Creates and maintains information security documentation.

  • Communicates information security procedures to users Reviews and recommends changes to information security policies.

  • Designs, develops or recommends security systems solutions for protection of proprietary/confidential data and systems.

  • Provides technical services for the support of integrated security systems and solutions

  • Participates with the client in the strategic design process to translate security and business requirements into processes and systems.

  • Coordinates, administers, manages and monitors the use of network security control and tools to identify anomalous events and security infractions that exploit system vulnerabilities

  • Integrates network security controls into an environment to identify risks and reduce their impact.

  • Provides analysis of potential risk to network security and recommends solutions

  • Creates and maintains network security documentation.

  • Communicates network security procedures to users Reviews and recommends changes to network security policies

As a managed security provider, SecureWorks expects its employees to understand and apply commonly known security practices and possess a working knowledge of applicable industry controls such as NIST 800-53. Employees will be expected to acknowledge their security responsibilities in writing prior to gaining access to company systems. Employees will be required to maintain a working knowledge of local security policies and execute general controls as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of networking and system administration experience (Windows)
  • Minimum of 3 years of information security experience (SOC, Incident Response, Threat Intelligence, Security Analyst, SIEM Management, etc.)

Preferred Skills

  • One or more of the following certifications: GSEC, GCIH, GCIA, GCED, OSCP, CISSP, CCNA

  • Experience with reviewing raw log files, data correlation, and analysis (i.e. firewall, network flow, intrusion detection systems, system logs)

  • Solid and demonstrable comprehension of Information Security including malware, emerging threats, attacks, and vulnerability management

  • Experience assisting the development and maintenance of tools, procedures, and documentation

  • Customer service including the resolution of customer escalations, incident handling, and reporting

Role Overview The Application Penetration Testing Consultant supports the Security and Risk Consulting /Technical Testing Team by applying information security threat intelligence to identify and exploit vulnerabilities within our client's environments. The focus areas for this role are web and mobile application penetration testing, API testing, and code review. Role Responsibilities * Conduct application security assessments (web, mobile, API, etc.) using off-the-shelf or internally developed exploitation tools to execute manual testing for advanced attacks * Produce and deliver vulnerability and exploit information to clients in the form of a professional security assessment report * Conduct client conference calls to include, but not limited to project kick-off calls, notification of high/critical findings during the testing process, and close out calls to review test findings, evidence, process steps to reproduce, and remediation recommendations * Perform proactive research to identify and understand new threats, vulnerabilities, and exploits * Excel as both a self-directed individual contributor and as a member of a larger team * Perform other essential duties as assigned Requirements * Minimum of 5 years of experience with penetration testing (including application testing) * Minimum of 3 years of experience with at least one of the following: Nmap, Metasploit, Kali Linux, Burp Suite Pro, Responder Preferences * Mobile testing experience * Experience conducting code reviews with at least one of the following languages: Java, C#, ASP.NET, Objective C, Swift, Python * Knowledge of NetSparker and AppScan * Operating systems administration and internals (Microsoft Windows / Linux) * Understanding of TCP/IP networking at a technical level * A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field; or equivalent professional experience * Experience with various application attack vectors, security test processes and strong knowledge of common vulnerabilities (i.e. OWASP Top 10) * Working knowledge of SQL and high level languages * Good technical communication skills, both written and verbal; good analytical and problem solving skills This is a remote position with potential travel up to 10% Secureworks (A Dell Technologies Company) is committed to the principle of equal employment opportunity for all employees and to providing employees with a work environment free of discrimination and harassment.
