Title: Website Manager/Technology Generalist

Reports to: Director of Technology

Terms of Employment: Year Round (12 months)

Location: District Technology Office (Amity Middle School-Bethany)

Compensation: $22.68 - $28.35 per hour Dependent on Experience

The primary role of the Website Manager/Technology Generalist will be the day-to-day maintenance and administration of the Amity Regional School District No. 5 website. The position will manage the district and school webpages,as well as district social media accounts. The position may assist with creating new content for the website or auditing existing content to improve clarity of communication. The Website Manager/Technology Specialist will ensure the District has functional websites that users can navigate easily and may troubleshoot and resolve a variety of website performance issues.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, computer technology or related field preferred, but not required

  • Knowledge of website programming languages/platforms

  • Ability to maintain and update website with new content

  • Skills in constructing persuasive, compelling, and easy-to-read web content

  • Ability to think critically and creatively about web communications

  • Experience with Windows Operating Systems in a network environment.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products.

  • Knowledge of Smart Technologies and Promethean products

  • Ability to deal effectively with students, certified and classified staff.

  • Valid CT Driver's License and reliable transportation

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Managing, monitoring, and upgrading the District's and the individual school websites.

  • Conducting content audits to eliminate redundant and/or duplicate information.

  • Collaborating with school and district administrators to ensure website content aligns with the Board of Education's Mission, The Portrait of the Graduate, the District's Strategic Plan, and/or School Improvement Plans.

  • Writing web content, such as articles, infographics, and landing pages in accurate language that is easily understood.

  • Improving the user experience of the website.

  • Ensuring full compliance of the website with all laws and regulations.

  • Replying to, troubleshooting, and resolving website issues.

  • Keeping up-to-date with best practices and monitoring competitor websites; making recommendations for website improvements.

  • Creating and scheduling posts for multiple social media channels.

  • Developing and managing new social media pages.

  • Installing and updating a variety of software applications.

  • Troubleshooting and repairing end-user software and hardware issues.

  • Installing, setting up, and troubleshooting classroom projectors, SMART Technologies, and Promethean products.

  • Must be available after hours for special events as required.

  • Must be available to assist District Offices on special assignments related to setup and operation of technology equipment.
