POSITION: ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM DIRECTOR AND INSTRUCTOR REPORTS TO: Dean of Advanced Technology & Engineering SALARY: Mid $70's, depending on education and qualifications DEADLINE: Until filled EFFECTIVE: This position is available now RESPONSIBILITIES: Under general supervision, develops program and course outlines, goals, and objectives. Prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for credited Engineering Technology courses. Develops syllabi to meet program and school objectives. Evaluates students' progress in attaining goals and objectives. Requests and maintains supplies and equipment, and prepares required budget requests. Maintains program certification requirements, as appropriate. Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports. Attends staff development training, workshops, seminars and conferences. Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area. Meets with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs and other issues impacting the progress of the students. Also performs various duties as Program Director, i.e. responsible for management of all adjunct personnel and provides all information to complete various departmental and College reports. Will assure that all programmatic standards are met. Responsible for administrative duties related to student advisement, advisory committee meetings, and program development. Assists with student recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts. Conducts bi-annual industry advisory board meetings. Other work-related duties as assigned by Dean. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * Master's degree in Electrical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering/Engineering Technology from a regionally accredited college or university; * Three (3) years of work experience in a position related to engineering technology; * Must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the courses assigned. TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES: * Ability to work flexible hours and teach at multiple campuses as needed; * Knowledge of pedagogical practice and theory; * Knowledge of academic course standards, and LTC's academic programs; * Knowledge of the mission of postsecondary technical education; * Skill in the operation of computers and job-related software programs; * Effective oral and written communication skills, decision-making, and problem-solving skills; * Ability to handle administrative responsibilities related to teaching courses, data collection, & reporting for licensing and accreditation agencies and the College; * Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, positive attitude and professional attire; * Skill in the preparation and delivery of classroom content; * Skill to work and communicate cooperatively with students, faculty, and staff. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (in addition to minimum qualifications and competencies): * More than three (3) years of work experience in a position related to engineering technology; * Previous teaching experience in a post-secondary environment. * Previous online teaching or training experience including the use of video capture tools.
