Job Description and Duties

The Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) is recruiting for the position of Information Technology Technician in the Strategic Communications and Research Bureau.

The Information Technology Technician (ITT) is primarily responsible for providing first-tier technical support for resolving technical issues and providing instruction on using the electronic data interchange (EDI) system. The ITT must possess excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively and professionally with internal users and external stakeholders, which primarily includes law enforcement agency staff, through various means of communication, utilizing varying levels of information technology knowledge.

Competitive candidates should possess well-developed verbal and written communication skills; be dependable, accurate, and team oriented; possess good analytical skills; and have the ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with both technical and nontechnical end-users and staff.

Working Conditions

This position is located at POST headquarters in West Sacramento, CA. The office is located in a two-story building with a business park setting.

Regular and consistent attendance is critical to the successful performance of this position.
