Novaspect, Inc, an Emerson Impact Partner and global leader of process systems and solutions, is currently offering an opportunity for new graduates for a rotational program to join our fast paced, customer orientated team in our Schaumburg, IL location. The successful candidate will assist our IT, IS and System Services Infrastructure teams to provide user and customer support on Novaspect's business facing systems as well as assist in the development and delivery of process control solutions for our industrial customers.

The successful candidate would be working over the course of 12 months to gain exposure to products and processes in various areas of technology. Upon successful completion of the program the participants will move into a technical role in our system services, IT or IS team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Under the guidance of a mentor, work on various information technology, information systems or systems infrastructure projects

  • Provide technical support to engineering, IT and IS teams. This may include but not limited to:

  • Plan, develop and implement modifications to software and communication protocols to meet Novaspect's customer's needs

  • Install and troubleshoot Microsoft operating systems and wireless network systems

  • Set up and install electronic systems in industrial settings to control industrial processes

  • Setup Operator Workstations and troubleshoot computer related problems

  • Setup Microsoft Active Directories, DNS, Terminal Services, and Group Policy

  • Perform system support including incident resolution, password changes, patching enhancement design, development, testing, and documentation

  • Act as main point of contact between users and internal IS/IT staff to ensure all issues are logged and resolved

  • Beta Test releases, updates, and enhancements to new and existing business

  • Software development, coding and working with MS SQL Server

  • Familiarity with basic understanding of all Product and Service offerings

  • Develop strong working relationships with both internal and external customers

  • Continuous understanding of the customer's business and KPI's

  • Understanding of the Emerson Process Management organization and offerings, and the ability to articulate the differentiators in the market

  • Participate in meetings with different functional teams as needed.

  • Proactively seek out information and feedback on current assignment from others

Education and/or Experience:

  • B.S. Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Networking & Communication, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering

  • Internship/Co-op or work experience in engineering or technology preferred

  • Ability to maintain permanent employment in the United States

  • Graduation Date between December 2019 and May 2020

Duties include developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key functional areas; including but not limited to: Server infrastructure, Storage Infrastructure, Microsoft SQL Server Database environments, Application Technologies Cloud and Desktop Virtualization infrastructure technologies.
