Responsibilities

  • You will conduct risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and protection needs.

  • You will conduct systems security evaluations, audits, and reviews.

  • You will participate in network and systems design to ensure implementation of appropriate systems security policies.

  • You will participate in the gathering, analysis, and preservation of evidence used in the prosecution of computer crimes.

  • You will identify and specify information systems security requirements associated with migrations to new environments.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.

  • This position is eligible for part time, full time or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Top Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Information Assurance Management 02 certification.

  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). You must be certified as a Career Field Information Technology Level 02. Certification is required within 24 months of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or NH-02 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector conducting technical/operational and non-technical system security assessments based on analysis of security requirements and identifying cybersecurity technical risks and impacts of the system(s) in an engineering and operational environment.
