Duties

Summary

You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) in the CYBER SECURITY BRANCH, COMMUNICATIONS & INFORMATION SYSTEMS DIVISION of MCLB ALBANY GA.
Responsibilities

You will create, modify, and enforce command information assurance policies and procedures in accordance with Department of Defense, Department of Navy, and US Marine Corps policies and guidelines.
You will provide technical direction to a staff of military, civilian and contractor personnel.
You will develop, manage and oversee budget requirements.
You will coordinate system administrators in monitoring the network for vulnerabilities and compromises.
You will develop and recommend protective network and physical security devices and systems for acquisition and implementation.
You will verify appropriate security tests and assessments are conducted and documented.
You will plan, organize and manage short, mid and long-term plans for Information Assurance as new technologies are developed to ensure the security posture remains at an acceptable level.

Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in DOD Instruction 8570.1-M for specialty area IAT level III within 6 months of appointment.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment. You will be subject to random testing.
This position may require travel from normal duty station.
This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.

Qualifications

GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Developing, managing and maintaining an Information Assurance (IA) program for an organization; implementing and monitoring an organization's Network Security Program; AND providing technical advice and guidance on an Information Assurance program.

GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Developing, managing and maintaining an Information Assurance (IA) program for an organization; implementing and monitoring an organization's Network Security Program; AND providing technical advice and guidance on an Information Assurance program.

Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.

  • Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: CONDUCTING SECURITY AUDITS AND INSPECTIONS AND PROVIDING AUDIT/INSPECTION RESULTS TO THE CERTIFYING AUTHORITY REPRESENTATIVE FOR COMPLIANCE REPORTING.

2.Customer Service
