The California Cybersecurity Integration Center (Cal-CSIC) is at the forefront of this effort, serving as the hub of state government's cybersecurity operations. As a Senior Cyber Defense Forensics Analyst within the Cal-CSIC, you will play a crucial role in achieving this goal.
In this role, you will use your advanced forensics expertise and leadership skills to lead incident response efforts and enhance cybersecurity resilience across California's public and private sectors.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading incident response, threat identification, and security assessment efforts.
Conducting advanced digital forensics investigations.
Analyzing data from various sources to identify cyber threats.
Collaborating with security teams, vendors, and partner agencies.
Developing and implementing cybersecurity strategies and incident response plans.
Staying current with emerging cybersecurity technologies and threat landscapes.
To succeed in this position, you will need:
Extensive experience in IT and cybersecurity leadership roles.
Expert knowledge of advanced cybersecurity, digital forensics, and incident response.
Strong understanding of federal and state cybersecurity regulations.
Exceptional leadership and communication skills.

This service may require irregular work hours, work locations other than the official duty location, and may include duties other than those specified in your official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and you may be required to relocate to emergency sites.

Special Requirements
DMV Pull Program: Participation in the DMV Pull Program is required. The position(s) require(s) a valid Driver's License (DL). You must answer the questions addressing your DL on your application. Ensure you provide your DL number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions.

Homeland Security Special Requirements: This position requires access to National Security Information, and therefore, selected candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret-level security clearance. Upon hire, candidates will be required to apply for the clearance, and once granted, they must maintain it as a condition of employment. Eligibility for a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) sponsored SECRET security clearance is also mandatory, and candidates must be able to qualify for and maintain it.
