Responsibilities

  • You will ensure customer satisfaction of hardware and software functionality and teh quality of implementing instructions.

  • You will respond to customer requests for all computer-related difficulties, analyzes, and evaluates problems, and provides recommended solutions.

  • You will apply configuration management disciplines to document the functional and physical characteristics of a system, network, or product during its life cycle.

  • You will review propsed Information Management System or IT solution for consistency with customer and/or regional operational requirements.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver?s license.

  • You must obtain and maintain required DOD 8570 IA training, requirement certification, at a minimum "Network+", A+, or SSCP for this designated Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level I and to obtain certification at Level II within 6 months.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area Intermediate level II within 6 months of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Advising customers on the hardware/software required to support their mission; 2) Troubleshooting problems that exist and/or assisting in their resolution; 3) Applying cost-benefit analysis principles to advise customers on which technology would be most cost effective to meet their requirements; 4) Providing Information Management and Information Technology services to corporate structures and commands. NOTE: This experience must be fully supported in your resume to be considered for this position. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.

This position is located at Naval Air Station Lemoore, CA in support of the F35 Program. This Information System Security Officer (ISSO) position directly supports the local F-35 Navy Information System Security Manager (ISSM). The ISSO must have first hand knowledge of JAFAN, JSIG, RMF and NIST 800 series documents. Tasks will include, but are not limited to configuring information systems, providing information for the development of System Security Plans, establishing and maintaining configuration management plans, install/update/remove computer equipment, preparing documents to gain government approvals to operate information systems, weekly system audits, anti-virus software management, sanitizing systems and components, establishing new user accounts, conduct risk assessments and provides corrective recommendations, preparing for and supporting inspections, etc. This position reports to the F-35 Enterprise ISSM. Successful candidate should be knowledgeable of information technology security principles, PC Desktops, and Microsoft suite of applications. Assist with self-inspection reviews. This is a multi-tasking environment that demands superior customer service, effective communication, and sound organizational skills. Mission requirements may require other than first-shift work. Other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications: Final Transferable Secret security clearance Last Periodic Re-investigation must be within the last six (6) years. Must be able to attain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) access. DoD IAT Level II certification or higher is required before applying. Must maintain DoD 8570 certification.
