Information Technology - Applications Support Specialist

1st Advantage Federal Credit Union is currently seeking a full-time hybrid Applications Support Specialist to support our Technology department in our corporate office in Yorktown, Virginia. The scheduled hours will be Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The position will start as fully on-site but will have hybrid work opportunities (remote a few days a week) once the candidate is fully trained in the role.

This position is responsible for managing core integrated applications ensuring they are up to date and available. The Applications Support Specialist also acts as the project manager for software deployment within IT and works closely with the Manager of Enterprise Applications and Manager of Enterprise Infrastructure as needed to complete projects for the business units.

Applications Support Specialist Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Technical liaison between IT and the business units, supporting the organizations critical software applications. Helps to translate business requirements into an actionable project plan for software deployments.

  • Manages multiple IT software projects simultaneously ensuring that the right technology resources and business owners and involved in project meetings.

  • Assists the Service Desk with escalations of application issues that require third party vendor support to resolve. Resolutions will be shared with the Service Desk to improve ongoing support capabilities of the Service Desk.

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and services to the Credit Union and/or its members through use of new products and technologies.

Performance Measurements:

  • Complete upgrade of all line of business applications including but not limited to IMM, Onsemble, Temenos, Meridianlink, etc.

  • Work with business units to leverage existing and future applications to improve business processes.

  • Assist core banking staff by assisting with daily and periodic processing as needed.

  • Provide project management services for IT Projects, specifically those involving core integration and engagement with business units.

Qualifications:

Experience Three years to five years of similar or related experience. Experience with DNA Core Banking platform in a datacenter environment is preferred.

Education (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialist training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.

Interpersonal Skills Work normally involves contacts with persons beyond immediate associates generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion. Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (members or vendors) requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information.

Other Skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills that can be tailored to the client's needs. Ability to learn quickly in a self-directed environment with minimal supervision. Ability to manage and prioritize among multiple projects. Proficient in Microsoft Officer application support. Some experiencing supporting Windows Server. Experience using a ticketing system. Ability to use remote desktop and remote assistance technologies.

Physical Requirements

Physical requirements include occasional lifting/carrying of 50 pounds; visual acuity, speech and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer keyboard and basic office equipment. Subject to sitting, standing, reaching, walking, twisting, and kneeling to perform the essential functions.
