Overview
The Agency of Digital Services (ADS) is seeking a senior-level Project Manager to join ADS's Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) as an IT Project Manager level IV. We have a standard work schedule of Monday through Friday, 7:45am-4:30pm with some flexibility in these hours and the current ability to telework five days a week, with the exception of required in person meetings.
This is the second level of five in the Information Technology (IT) Project Manager series. Under supervision, project managers work with information technology (IT) staff, subject matter experts (SMEs), and program leaders to coordinate, planning, organizing, controlling, integrating, designing, implementing, and enhancing information systems and services for the State of Vermont. Work is performed under the direct supervision of an experienced team member until the time the candidate demonstrates the skillset to conduct activities independently. Duties may involve management of technology related projects.
Examples of work include
Independently creating, baselining, and executing project work plans, including scope, schedule, and cost, and revises as appropriate.
Identifying and coordinating assignment of resources and ensures resource plan is carried out consistent with overall project goals and schedule.
Project managers at this level independently monitor and control day to day operational aspects of one or more projects and may also provide oversight of a project portfolio.
Reviewing deliverables prepared by vendor to ensure consistency with requirements and recommends acceptance or rework.
Minimizes risk to State of Vermont and project sponsors through leadership of risk mitigation planning.
Accomplishing document management, including version control, and creating project records.
Accomplishing earned value management calculations and reporting by tracking team hours, progress in terms of scope, and expenses.
Developing, monitoring, and tracking project budgets. Preparing and presenting information to management or the legislature.
Supervise and/or mentor junior staff for both project and career growth and make staff development recommendations.
