The Information Technology (IT) Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, management and completion of IT projects on a wide variety of business units and programs. The IT Project Manager directs, coordinates, and supervises project-related activities of a diverse implementation team consisting of functional and technical staff; responsible for assembling the project staff; for their technical or functional development and performance, during the project or projects; leads, directs, and coordinates the project team in the design of overall projects and in the development of implementation plans and project timelines; identifies and develops working relationships with affected constituencies at all levels; ensures that constituent representatives are kept appropriately informed of project activities and are encouraged to participate as appropriate; advises process teams representing constituent needs regarding cross-functional considerations, workflow integration and coordination, and optimization of best practices; identifies, secures, and coordinates implementation of internal and external resources and expertise as appropriate to achieve project objectives; ensures that the projects are proceeding according to timelines, meeting targets and expectations, and adhering to established operating parameters; directs status meetings and elevates issues and risks identified, and works with Project Sponsors, Management and Steering Committee to resolve and mitigate issues and risks; responsible for developing and managing overall project budget; and directs and monitors quality and audit compliance.
Manages a medium- to large-scale projects from planning to completion by facilitating meetings with project stakeholders and personnel; translating general objectives into project estimation and execution plans; managing project financials and providing input and justification for costs and budget impact; monitoring overall project performance (e.g., on time, on budget, within resources) against plan and making adjustments as needed; identifying and resolving issues; managing the request for information (RFI) and vendor request for proposal (RFP) processes Manages the work of project teams by assembling team resources which ensure the alignment of team member skills and strengths with project demands; communicating a clear vision of project goals and objectives to the team; coordinating team activities to ensure project milestones are achieved; providing performance feedback to team members' supervisors as appropriate. Manages, controls, and mitigates risks across multiple, interdependent projects by analyzing and identifying trigger events; establishing contingency plans; anticipating and managing dependencies affected by ongoing changes across projects; recommending ways to mitigate future risks and influencing leadership to take action on these recommendations Ensures the alignment, buy-in, and support of diverse project stakeholders by building and maintaining relationships with internal customers, third party vendors, and business leadership; working closely with project sponsors and stakeholders to help determine project goals, influence the prioritization of deliverables, and facilitate decisions necessary for project delivery Adheres to enterprise Project management practices by participating in formal and informal training; tracking and reporting key metrics (e.g., deliverables, financials, duration, benefits) as appropriate; gathering, maintaining, and communicating lessons learned and feedback to project teams, leadership, and the larger project management community. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or related field required. Completion of project management class or certification within 12 months of employment required.
Strong written, oral, interpersonal, and analytical skills required. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment required. Participates in on-call rotation which requires after hours and weekend coverage.
Minimum seven (7) years progressively responsible technical management experience involving coordination/integration of information technology planning for complex/non-complex organizational projects required. Competency in use of project management and diagramming software required.
Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office products required.
