Information Technology Operations Manager

Duties and Responsiblities

• Directly supervises employees involved in help desk and end-user support.

• Coordinate with technical teams to resolve complex technical problems and ensure prompt incident resolution.

• Manage and supervise the city's comprehensive mobile device ecosystem, comprising 400+ devices such as iPhones, iPads, and Samsung tablets.

• Liaise with external vendors to procure necessary hardware, software, and support services. Negotiate contracts and ensure vendors meet established service standards.

• Develops and manages all information security policies, standards, procedures, and internal controls in collaboration with the Chief Information Officer and Infrastructure Operations Manager, which includes establishing procedures and requirements with key stakeholders to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws.

• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in computer technology, computer science or related field is required.

• Experience in Windows desktop and server operating systems and the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and repair of personal computer systems/software required.

• Significant experience with networked computer systems required.

• Experience in the design, specification, installation, and support of complex local and wide area computer networks and application software required.

• A minimum of five years in a similar position is preferred.

• Project Management Professional, Information Technology Information Library, Certified Information Systems Security Professional certifications are also preferred.

• Experience in Internet Web resources and e-mail. Experience managing mobile devices (iPad, iPhone, Android tablets and phones) and Apple Mac OS is a plus.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:Possession of a valid and appropriate driver's license is required.

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Comprehensive knowledge of information security management and technology (audit compliance, regulatory compliance, disaster recovery, vulnerability assessment, firewalls, and endpoint security). Comprehensive knowledge of security administration in a Windows based network environment. Comprehensive knowledge of server administration as applied to network and internet security. Thorough knowledge of information protection standards, guidelines, and applied procedures (i.e. industry "best practices"). Thorough knowledge of common information security management frameworks, such as ISO/IEC 27001, ITIL, COBIT as well as those from National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), including 800-53 and Cybersecurity Framework. Thorough knowledge of business needs with the ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence in the security team's concern for customers. Ability to work independently. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, representatives of other City departments and agencies, and the public. May require work during non-office hours (Monday ? Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm) to meet deadlines or complete tasks.
