Principal Function: The IT Manager is responsible for overseeing and streamlining information system operations in alignment with the business objectives of Conner Prairie. This position plans, coordinates, directs and designs all IT-related activities of the organization as well as provides administrative direction and support for daily operational activities of the IT Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Benchmark, analyze and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IT infrastructure and IT systems.

  • Authorize and direct the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade and support of all IT systems, including servers, PC's, telephone systems, operating systems, hardware, software and peripherals based on departmental needs.

  • Negotiate and administer IT vendor, consultant and service contracts.

  • Purchase of and setup for new employee workstations and replacements based on individual departmental needs.

  • Ensure software updates are installed timely on computers within organization.

  • Field and resolve all IT-related issues.

  • Coordinate the resolution of issues involving computer hardware, communications software or computer applications.

  • Supervise IT-related preventative and proactive maintenance.

  • Manage the setup and deletion of access to systems including Conner Prairie emails and drives.

  • Approve and coordinate all IT projects.

  • Oversee online IT ticketing system (Clickup) to prioritize and resolve IT requests.

  • Ensure security and confidentiality within IT-related processes.

  • Support Microsoft Windows-based operating systems.

  • Track and maintain IT asset inventory.

  • Create and update all IT, security and networking policies and procedures.

  • Train staff on new and existing IT systems and features.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Independent problem-solver that is self-directed and requires minimal supervision.

  • Strong knowledge of cloud technologies, internet, networking, firewalls, routing and switching.

  • Well-organized with a sense of urgency to quickly and accurately resolve IT requests/problems.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This job will supervise one (1) Part-Time Flex IT Support Specialist position.

Education and/or Experience: Associate degree or higher level of education in the area of Computer Science or related degree and/or two years of IT-related experience or equivalent work experience to meet qualifications of position.

Conner Prairie is generally open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday, this position will be required to work beyond these hours and when open for special events.
