Job Summary
Under the direction of the Assistant Vice President for Finance & Administration, the Information Technology Manager is a hands-on technology leader, responsible for technology throughout the organization and supervision of information technology employees.
In consultation with the supervisor this includes planning, budget preparation and management; recommendations for technical acquisitions; and development of guidelines, standards and procedures. In light of overall campus goals and needs, the IT Manager directs the work of all IT staff.
Position Duties & Responsibilities
Supervising and managing the Information Technology department, this position is responsible for:
Managing the work of the IT team, including help desk operations, network/system work, data & reporting, and instructional technology
Maintaining a strong culture of customer service and solution providing around the university
Identify and pursue technology enhancements and projects
Recommending and implementing appropriate cybersecurity measures and solutions
Observing campus needs and working to identify solutions with both existing platforms and new tools
Managing new solution research, recommendation and procurement, as well as existing solution renewals.
Prioritizing varying campus needs to achieve results within the university's strategic plan
Implementing and maintaining system documentation, inventories, and licenses
Maintain relationships with third party contractors and vendors to meet campus needs
Responding to other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor
Position Duties & Responsibilities
Education/Certifications: Bachelor's degree and five years' experience in computer technology required.
Required Knowledge:
Proven managerial and leadership skills
Strong technical knowledge of telecommunications, networking, computer hardware, and software
Skills/Abilities:
Experience managing Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, network infrastructure, Entra ID, Office 365
Skilled understanding of Cloud vs On Prem solutions and deployments
Experience and skills in technical and administrative areas
Excellent oral/written communication abilities and organization skills
Calm, professional demeanor, ability to work independently as well as in groups

This position may require lifting up to 50 lbs, as well as bending, stooping, kneeling.
