The Opportunity:

The Information Technology Manager is a key member of the Bailard, Inc. information technology (IT) team and is an integral position for the organization. This role focuses on assisting all Bailard, Inc. employees with technological support for all locations. The Information Technology Manager is responsible for providing advanced technical assistance to our staff, resolving complex issues, and serving as a mentor and escalation point for other support staff. The Information Technology Manager provides technical support to Bailard's management and staff and is responsible for providing guidance and advice, identifying opportunities to streamline processes, and ensuring that all components of our technology infrastructure are secure and functioning properly. Additional responsibilities include support for IT related projects and programs. The ideal candidate will be a passionate self-starter with a growth oriented mindset and has a passion for continuous development.

Responsibilities:

  • Play a significant role in safeguarding Bailard's information systems and data assets from cyber threats.

  • Contribute to the development of information security policies, standards, plans, procedures, and other documentation to support Bailard-adopted frameworks and industry standards.

  • Manage Azure-based infrastructure and administer Microsoft 365 services including Endpoint Manager/Intune, Defender, Purview, Teams, among others.

  • Monitor and ensure reported application and operating system vulnerabilities are promptly remediated.

  • Manage IT projects to a successful and timely conclusion.

  • Administer and manage business line applications.

  • Maintain business continuity protocols to minimize disruption in operations in the event of business disruptions or data loss.

  • Stay updated on product enhancements, new features, and industry trends to protect information resources, provide proactive support, and deliver exceptional service and client experience.

  • Manage a catalog of custom scripts that enhance, automate, and integrate applications, workflows, and data.

  • Provide superior technical support to end-users for desktop hardware, software, mobile devices, peripherals, and connectivity in person and via phone, email, chat, and remote assistance.

  • Oversee workstation and employee onboarding/offboarding activity including workstation setup and deployment or decommission and disposition during offboarding.

  • Lead solution testing and validation activities to ensure the quality and reliability of hardware, software, and services.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with external vendors and service providers.

  • Design and contribute to the creation and maintenance of support documentation including knowledge base articles, FAQs, and other support documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • 5+ years' work experience in a prior IT Manager position or higher.

  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of technologies, tools, and process controls to minimize cybersecurity risk and data exposure.

  • 5+ years' experience with managing Azure cloud infrastructure.

  • 5+ years' experience with Microsoft 365 Administration (Exchange, OneDrive, Intune, Teams, SharePoint, Defender) including licensing.

  • 3+ years managing employees.

  • Proficient in scripting (e.g., PowerShell) for automating routine tasks.

  • Demonstrated project management acumen that is tailored to an SMB setting.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with the ability to effectively adapt communication to multiple audiences including those highly skilled in technology and those who are not technically adept.

  • Experience working within financial services or investment management industry.

  • Solid foundation and understanding of data management strategies and integration.

  • Experience in developing DR/BCP/Incident Response plans, policies, and procedures to ensure system availability and site recovery.

  • Experience in vendor oversight procedures, policy, and program.

  • Intellectual curiosity and demonstrated ability to stay current with technological developments.

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working in the Financial Services Industry.

  • Knowledge and understanding of SEC regulatory requirements and the technology required to meet those requirements.

  • Experience with Autopilot deployment setup and configuration.

  • Experience with Microsoft's Power Automate/PowerBI.

  • Knowledge of Python, REST API, JSON.

  • Experience in managing and securing Azure Domain Service/Azure Active Directory, including Group Policy.

  • Experience with cloud telephony systems (e.g., Zoom).

Where you'll be:

Bailard, Inc. has offices located in San Francisco and Foster City. This role will primarily reside in our Foster City location with periodic travel to our San Francisco office.
