Job Description: Summary

The Application Services Intern will work to enable more efficient integrations and transfer of data between Lamb Weston business application using the Dell Boomi integration platform. Under supervision of technical staff members, perform project assignments in support of integrations including design, test and validation. The selected intern will gain insight to industry while assisting Professionals in studies and projects.

Job Description

Typical duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Analysis of integration requirements including interviews with key stakeholders to identify data elements required, data cleansing needed and input and output systems.

  • Documentation of proposed integrations identifying the issue to be solved and any Return on Investment (ROI) to be gained.

  • Development of test and deployment plans.

  • Participation in progress meetings.

  • Participation in Status Report creation.

  • Problem resolution and User Acceptance Testing.

  • Participation in code reviews and security reviews under the guidance of technical professional.

  • Learn best practices IT Coding Standards.

  • Intern location will be our Global Headquarters in Eagle, ID

  • 10-12 week paid internship, June 2019 September 2019 (actual dates may vary depending on the candidate's academic calendar)

  • Relocation stipend and housing support available to those that qualify

  • Individual intern projects will be assigned and a final presentation will be made at the conclusion of internship

  • Interns will attend organized development and social events throughout the summer

Job Qualifications

  • Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program related to Computer Science or Management Information Systems, Junior or Senior standing preferred

  • Minimum GPA 3.0

  • Self-starter with strong results orientation.

  • A basic understanding of computer systems and processes to apply skills to support business integrations

  • Ability to problem solve with limited guidance

  • Continuous improvement mindset and methodology

  • Excellent verbal and oral communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Strong computer competency with experience with MS suite of products desirable.

  • Ability to travel no more than 25%

  • Ability to relocate to Eagle, ID for the duration of the internship (summer 2019)

  • Valid Driver's License and ability to operate a motor vehicle

  • Ability to meet the Lamb Weston Authorized Driving Requirements

The role is jointly responsible for architectural governance of the applications domain; and, for solution architecture and design deliverables for assigned projects aligned to our architectural standards, principles and SDLC methodology. This role requires close working relationships with Business and IT leadership, internal customers, Business Alignment Teams, the extend Enterprise Architecture team, and the PMO office. Job Description * The enterprise architect applies vast experience of system architectures, application technologies, data architectures, and infrastructures to support key IT initiatives. * Analyze solutions and technologies and make recommendations based on knowledge of the organization's current and future needs. * Reviewing business and technical requirements, focusing on solution development throughout the project lifecycle, supporting development and testing activities, evangelizing best practices and proven patterns, and escalating architecture issues and concerns. * Maintains an understanding of long term company strategy and ensures that designs will enable the company to meet the changing industry/competitive demands. * Provide technical design direction and solutions for architectural and functional requirements so software is written or purchased with consistent forethought and support of several quality aspects: * Run-time quality – performance, security, availability, functionality, usability, etc. * Non-run-time quality - maintainability, modifiability, portability, reusability, integrability, testability, etc. * Intrinsic qualities – fitness of purpose, conceptual integrity, correctness, robustness, completeness etc. * Lead comprehensive Product / Application Evaluation and Selection services. * Develop prototype code as examples for newly designed components, refactoring efforts, and core architectural framework and component. * Provide subject matter expertise regarding external systems and third-party functional components and their interfaces. * Evaluate the maturity and appropriateness of existing application portfolio, gauge viability against industry best practices and alignment with strategic business goals and requirements and recommend future state portfolio and roadmap * Mentor and help to build the skill and experience of less senior team members regarding coding techniques, practices, and disciplines, and the application of software engineering design principles and patterns. * Participate in efforts to work through and resolve difficult development challenges. * Peer review design deliverables for quality, consistence, thoroughness, and application of lessons learned from past reviews. * Chair domain Technology Review board to establish the architecture, principle and standards that Lamb Weston uses to deploy and support technology. * Prepares presentations, documents, diagrams, models, and other artifacts as required to communicate analysis, recommendations, or designs. * Promote and use common design repository and contribute to repository's "cleanliness" and integrity.
