Boeing is hiring for a Information Technology Engineer to join the team in Long Beach, California.

The selected candidate would provide CAD/CAMSite Support (a.k.a. End-User Support) for Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA)Concurrent Product Definition (CPD) activities. Digital Product Definition (DPD) and Digital Pre-Assembly are the mainsupport areas. The applicant willprimarily support the following tool suite: CATIA V5, ENOVIA LCA, PDM and IVT.

Job Responsibilities:

The primary EndUser Support (EUS) responsibilities are as follow:

  • Provideknowledgeable support and guidance related to the usage and functionality ofthe Composites Design Workbench in CATIA V5.

  • Investigateend user problems by use of CPD processes and tools.

  • Providetraining support/mentoring in the use of best practice techniques (i.e., Solidmodeling, dataset construction, CATIA V5, PDM navigation, ENOVIA LCA, IVT).

  • Participatein the test; validation and implementation with regard to software upgradeactivities for the CATIA V5 tool suite.

  • Create andconsult on computing (i.e., CATIA V5, ENOVIA LCA, and IVT) and process related

Tip Sheets and Tutorials as related to the support of the day to day end userengineering activities.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor ofScience (B.S.) degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace or Aeronautical Engineering.

  • Five to ten years industry experience.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Strongknowledge and experience with CATIA V5 Composite Design Workbench (5 to 10 years).

  • Strong knowledge and experience withENOVIA LCA (5 to 10 years).

  • Electrical design knowledge with 787 andlegacy 7 series airplanes with understanding of functional diagrams, wirediagrams, wire and equipment installation (incl. use of Mapper/WIRS andBOEBE5-EHT).

  • Expert in engineering applications incl.CATIA V5, ENOVIA, IVT, and PDM.

  • Knowledgeable in Knowledge BasedEngineering(KBE) and automation tools with some programming experience.

  • Experience with release process of ModelBase Definition(MBD), IRM's, Retrofit Kits, using ENOVIA/PDM.

  • Experience with 2-D drawing definitionand GD&T PER ASME Y14.5.

  • Some software administration experience.

  • Able to test, troubleshoot and documentengineering design process scenarios for bugs and enhancement requests.

  • Must have very strong interpersonalcommunication skills.

  • Must have a good working knowledge ofthe Microsoft Office Applications.

  • Good oral and written skills/be able todeal with large groups of people at one time (i.e., training seminars,mentoring small groups, and user meetings).

  • Must be willing to work in a teamoriented environment

Typical Education/Experience:

Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience or PhD with 4 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

As a Propulsion Design Engineer in Southern California you will be an integral part of the Boeing Commercial Airplanes team supporting all Boeing models both in development and in airline service, including programs such as the 737 MAX, 787, 747-8, 767, 777X, Out of Production airplanes, and future airplane development. The SoCal Propulsion team offers opportunities such as working with major turbofan engine companies, performing powerplant installation analysis and designing propulsion structures including nacelle.
