This position is part of the Defense Human Resources Activity, Defense Manpower Data Center. The incumbent will serve as a project manager, analyst, and technical subject matter expert for the implementation of ITG programs.

As a Information Technology (APPSW/PLCYPLN) at the GS-2210-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:

  • Supports design, implementation, maintenance and sustainment of a business-driven efficient software delivery capability via development operations (DevOps) approaches, tools, and automation

  • Supports software QA processes and enforcing software and data quality standards to include scheduling and conducting process events (e.g. walk-throughs, reviews, audits, and testing), ensuring compliance with QA processes and standards, performing data analysis, collecting metrics and analyzing metric data in order to improve quality of products provided to DMDC's customers

  • Originates new techniques; establishes criteria; develops new information and approaches to identify and solve problems; develops and interprets broad program policies and regulations; and resolves persistent, widespread, or critical program challenges

  • Provides business process data analysis and continuous process improvement

  • Incumbent shall leverage Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) practices for IT service management (ITSM) and focus on aligning IT services with DMDC enterprise needs

You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:

  • Apply all aspects of the specialized experience through the full software development life-cycle (i.e. Planning, designing, development, testing and deployment)

  • Develop DevOps capability (tools, processes, and automation), or quality assurance delivery and monitoring, or business process data collection and analysis

  • Provides business process data analysis and continuous process improvement

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
