Dow has an exciting and challenging opportunity for an Information Technology Analyst located in Midland, MI or Houston, TX! The role will align to Dow's Design Your Day approach and allows employees flexibility by choosing when to work remotely and when to attend on-site activities based on project work and role needs.

About you and this role

As an Information Technology Analyst, you will design, develop, and support solutions and processes to meet business needs and requirements. This role works in a business process team, and applies general knowledge of Information Systems. You will use your passion for and experience with software engineering to help us continue our #DigitalDow journey and continue to transform the way our customers do business with us. You'll join a Scrum team responsible for analyzing, designing, building, testing and releasing new ecommerce features our customers use on a daily basis. We're continuously evaluating how we deliver, and we expect you to bring your ideas and breadth of experience to the table to help us continue to become more effective.

Responsibilities

  • Gathers and analyzes business requirements for assigned functional and technical areas

  • Works closely with business process teams, technical teams, and other stakeholders to design and build objects which meet requirements

  • Documents detailed designs

  • Builds, tests, and implements application objects

  • Assists with issue resolution

  • Helps ensure that functional and technical designs meet business requirements, conform to Dow architecture standards, and optimize productivity and long-term product/system vision

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree, or 5 years relevant experience, or relevant military experience at an E6 rank/Petty Officer 2nd Class or higher is required
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process

Preferred Skills

  • A degree in an IT related discipline

  • A minimum of 4 years of system design, implementation and support

  • A minimum of 4 years of software engineering/programming experience

  • Experience with Java, Spring Framework, modern JavaScript or similar languages/frameworks

  • Agile/Scrum knowledge
