Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science or 10 years of equivalent Information Technology work experience with K-12 education. .

  • Multi Year Experience in Managing and overseeing Technology staff.

  • Working knowledge of LANs, Wans, Microsoft Network Operating Systems,VmWare, Fortinet WIFI operating systems,Secure School firewall, SmartBoards, Video Filming, editing, live streaming and Telecommunications.

  • Experience in installation and maintenance of networks, personal computers, managed switches, Smartboards, projectors and other hardware and software.

  • Relevant experience with computer technology, networked information systems and Campus wide (multi building / Locations) Fortinet WIFI systems.

  • Broad knowledge of instructional technology equipment and applications; on-line services; technology resources and integration of technology across the curriculum.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop long-range plans for technology application in the schools and conduct related budget analysis.

  • Multi year experience with HP Chromebook,deployment, configuration, maintenance and repair.

  • Multi year experience as a Webmaster utilizing Wordpress Operating System and style sheets.

  • Working knowledge of State of NJ DOE and federal reporting including but not limited to NJsmart, NJ Homeroom and other NJDOE school reports.

  • Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.

Job Goal:

To provide leadership in the development, implementation and coordination of the district's technology plan; enhance instruction through technology across the curriculum; and, to promote efficiency in the schools with the use of technology. To ensure that district technology needs are met both through planning and implementation of technology systems throughout the district, including but not limited to networking, WIFI, telecommunications, hardware and software resources.

Performance Responsibilities:

Works with principals, department heads, subject matter specialists and teachers in developing the district's technology program to achieve state core curriculum content standards and district educational goals and objectives.

Studies, evaluates, and, as appropriate, recommends to the superintendent the adoption of new technology instruction materials, methods and programs and the purchase of computer hardware, software and other instructional technology tools. Works-cooperatively with the supervisor of instruction and other professional staff in planning and implementing the effective use of instructional technology across the curriculum.

Assists in the planning and implementation of the district's technology in-service education program for the instructional staff.

Evaluates the district's technology plan and education program; recommends changes as appropriate.

Provides leadership in the development of district policies related to the use of instructional technology, computer software and online services .

Cooperates with central office administrators and school principals in the development of a district wide electronic information system and provides technical assistance, as needed.

Assists in the development and coordination of the sections of the budget that relate to educational technology.

Coordinate and oversee the planning, purchasing, installation and maintenance of all district technology environments, including but not limited to computer systems (hardware and software) and peripheral devices, networks, WIFI, telecommunications, and systems software.

Manage district networks; oversee operations of WANs and LANs,WIFI.

Manage district Google education suite.

Establish and implement security procedures and troubleshooting procedures in working with technology environments.

Develop and implement a budget to meet district technology needs, under direction of the business administrator and with input from principals and other district educational personnel.

Ensure the functioning of all district technology, including timely service for installation, maintenance, and repair of computer hardware and software.

Work effectively with end users of technology in the district in order to troubleshoot problems.

Performs other duties within the scope of employment and certification as may be assigned.
