Position Summary:

The Information Systems Specialist Senior supports servers, PCs, PDAs, printers, copiers, scanners, and network equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoots technical issues to support the end user's productivity and maintains continuous network operations.

  • Assists in the recommendation, testing, configuration, and installation of end-user hardware and software.

  • Evaluates software applications and upgrades for installation on the network, and performs testing and configuration before migrating to network use.

  • Monitors all IT supply and equipment needs, makes recommendations and purchases within defined budgets, and ensures only corporate approved vendors are used.

  • Continuously monitors systems usage to ensure all business systems are available as required by the business.

  • Performs and monitors backup of business data according to policy.

  • Ensures assigned offices and local computer systems are in compliance with SOX and IT policy by adhering to all published policy and processes.

  • Tracks and keeps software licenses updated in accordance to Corporate Policy and Software License Agreements.

  • Maintains existing systems programs, installing updates as necessary.

  • Completes all sections of the disaster recovery plan related to technology.


  • Associate's degree and 3 years related experience required.

  • Broad knowledge of computer operating systems and software packages.

  • Specific expertise with Windows XP and Windows Server.

  • Strong knowledge of Lotus Notes, Microsoft Office Professional, McAfee Virus Protection, Active Directory.

  • Strong understanding of PCs and local and wide area networks.

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

  • Able to multi-task.

  • Good oral and written communications skills.

  • Team player.

U.S. Eligibility Requirements:

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Cyber Information Systems Security Analyst to join the Cyber Information Assurance Security team in Rolling Meadows. The Cyber Security organization has overall responsibility for providing information security oversight to all Northrop Grumman classified systems under their respective purview. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: * Perform assessments of systems and networks within the networking environment or enclave and identify where those systems and networks deviate from acceptable configurations, enclave policy, or local policy. This is achieved through passive evaluations such as compliance audits and active evaluations such as vulnerability assessments. * Establishes strict program control processes to ensure mitigation of risks and supports obtaining certification and accreditation of systems. Includes support of process, analysis, coordination, security certification test, security documentation, as well as investigations, software research, hardware introduction and release, emerging technology research inspections and periodic audits. * Assist in the implementation of the required government policy (i.e., NISPOM, ICD 503), make recommendations on process tailoring, participate in and document process activities. * Perform analyses to validate established security requirements and to recommend additional security requirements and safeguards. * Support the formal Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E) required by each government accrediting authority through pre-test preparations, participation in the tests, analysis of the results and preparation of required reports. * Document the results of Certification and Accreditation activities and technical or coordination activity and prepare the system Security Plans and update the Plan of Actions and Milestones POA&M. * Periodically conduct a complete review of each system's audits and monitor corrective actions until all actions are closed. * Review weekly information systems security audits. * Security configuration management. * Security account administration. * Evaluate system security plan documentation. * Continuous security monitoring. ESCSO ITS3500 Basic Qualifications: * Master's degree with 0 years of experience; OR a Bachelor's degree with 0 years of experience; OR an Associates degree (or other 2 year technical degree/diploma) with 2 years of experience; OR a High School Diploma/GED with 4 years of experience is required * Current DoD 8570 IAM level 1 security certification (examples: CAP, GSLC or Security CE); OR the ability to obtain and maintain one within 6 months of start date is needed * Candidates must have a current DOD Secret level security clearance to be considered Preferred Qualifications: * The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree with 1 year of Information Systems Security experience and a current IAM DoD level 1 security certification (CAP, GSLC or Security CE) * Experience with RMF in a DSS environment is preferred * Venerability assessments, auditing, system hardening, security controls, validation/verification would be helpful * NESSUS, ACAS, SCAP, SPLUNK, or other tools experience desirable * Top Secret clearance would be preferred Northrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
