What Your Job Will Be Like
The IT Infrastructure Services Management department (10773) is seeking multiple Project Managers (PMs) to plan, lead, organize, and motivate project teams to achieve a high-level of performance and quality in delivering agile projects that provide exceptional business value to users. The PM may be responsible for managing several concurrent high-visibility projects using agile and traditional methods in a fast-paced environment that may cross multiple organizations and IT domains.
The primary job duties for this position include the hands-on management of multiple IT projects simultaneously to ensure project success, including requirements elicitation, customer and supplier relationship management and providing project management support to 10770 enterprise infrastructure teams made up of employees and contractor personnel.
On any given day, you may be called upon to:
Provide project status to stakeholders and program customers.
Scope customer project/information requests.
Maintain SLAs and OLAs.
Track contracted work.
Coordinate deliverables and resources with Team Leads and Architects.
Monitor delivery of enterprise IT infrastructure services and strategic projects.
Instruct and enable teams in Agile methodologies.
Coordinate team planning and strategic portfolio funding requests/activities.
Qualifications We Require
Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline, or equivalent:
higher degree (MS, PhD) in relevant discipline;
or experience and/or achievements that demonstrate the knowledge, skills and ability to perform the duties of the job.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q level security clearance.
Qualifications We Desire
3 years of related experience.
Project Management Institute (PMI) certification.
Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt experience improving system processes.
Experience using Sandia's Solutions Delivery Lifecycle.
Knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment.
Understanding of ITIL and service management principles and frameworks and the relationship between projects and services.
Technical knowledge of enterprise IT operations.
Familiarity with IT infrastructure services, capabilities, and providers.
Successful leadership of diverse teams, projects or organizations.
Ability to make decisions requiring information systems engineering judgment.
Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to articulate the plan and execute the project to successful completion.
Experience estimating and monitoring cost and schedule for information systems projects.
Ability to gather requirements from stakeholders and determine project scope.
Proficiency in processes, tools, and applications commonly used in information systems development and project management such as Jira/Greenhopper, Confluence, Rally, Microsoft Project, Primavera, and Visio.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a constantly changing environment.
Ability to develop and nurture effective relationships and partnerships internal and external to the organization and align to Center and Corporate PM processes and requirements.
Experience implementing Software Development Lifecycle processes over including Agile/JIT/LEAN practices, Scrum, Kanban or other development principals and methods.
Ability to define and manage well-defined project management processes and champion ongoing process improvement initiatives.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
Active DOE or DOD security clearance.

The IT Infrastructure Services Management organization (10773) is responsible for the management of projects and services to modernize, optimize, and standardize services within the IT Infrastructure Services (10770) portfolio. Department 10773 develops and implements critical business processes including portfolio management and disaster recovery. This department ensures alignment with CIO and Corporate strategies, processes, and requirements, and enables IT infrastructure data-driven decisions. 10773 provides IT architectural leadership across 10770 and partners closely with enterprise IT organizations across Sandia.
