No Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Install, configure, manage, and maintain university servers.
2.Isolate and resolve system problems as well as tune current systems for optimal performance.
3.Perform day-to-day system administration functions such as account creation, trouble tickets, and facilitating backups.
4.Test and integrate new hardware, systems, and modifications to existing equipment and systems.
5.Support mission-critical systems such as the University's email messaging system.
6.Create and maintain server documentation, including problem and resolution logs for future reference.
7.Provide technical support and guidance to users.
8.Coordinate with vendors on the installation or repair of hardware and software.
9.Work as a team member with other Infrastructure Services staff to ensure connectivity and compatibility between systems.
10. Other projects and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related IT discipline and at least one year experience in server administration and experience leading ITS projects and working on cross-functional teams. Will also consider equivalent combination of education and experience.
Bachelor's with two to five years of experience preferred.

1.Experience with configuring, implementing, and troubleshooting enterprise-level, redundant, high availability systems.
2.Administration, support, and engineering experience with Windows or Linux systems required. Includes systems engineering, security hardening, storage configurations, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, etc.
3.Knowledge involving performance monitoring and system tuning.
4.Experience in virtualization technology (VMWare/Nutanix/Hyper-V).
5.Experience automating tasks with scripting languages, such as PowerShell Linux/Unix shell.
6.Experience with at least 2 of the following: Active Directory, Apache, Exchange, IIS, DNS, DHCP, Federated Authentication (ADFS/Shibboleth), File Servers, Microsoft Group Policy, Microsoft Office 365 / Azure, Print Servers.
