The Priority Telecommunications Services (PTS) program requires an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to verify that the PTS programs unclassified systems meets the requirements of the Office of Emergency Communications (OEC) in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This position is mandated by DHS in order to obtain an Authority to Operate (ATO) for the unclassified positions.

  • Perform the ISSO responsibilities identified in Section 5 of DHS Information System Security Officer (ISSO) Guide, Version 10, dated September 16, 2013, and shall perform the recurring tasks identified in Section 7 of the guide.

  • Lead overall system security oversight

  • Improve program-wide cybersecurity, according to NIST standards and industry best practices

  • Manage and monitor weekly security scans of PTS system and related vulnerability remediation

  • Update PTS Security Plan

  • Update IT security-related Standard Operating Procedures

  • Achieve and maintain Authority to Operate (ATO) with a security posture in accordance with DHS 4300A, NIST SP 800-53A, and other NIST publications as guidance

  • Support creation and maintenance of documentation in support of Certification & Accreditation (C&A) as required by the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA)

  • Provide IT security assessment and IT security audit functions to ensure FISMA compliance

  • Provide recommendations for environment migration

  • Ensure that the system's FIPS 199 potential impact for the availability security objective is consistent with the information types processed, stored, and transmitted by the system

  • Ensure comprehensive contingency plans are developed for each major application and general support system

  • Perform contingency planning, testing/exercising, and training

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: BS or equivalent + 9 yrs related experience, or MS + 7 yrs related experience

We are seeking energetic, talented individuals that have a desire to help transform customer requirements supporting the mission critical IT service for the Pentagon Force Protection Agency (PFPA). The experienced Windows System Administrator will perform and lead team regarding system administrative duties in support of PFPA Security Integration and Technology Support (PSITS) operations including: * Lead and participate in execution of the operations and management of a group of Windows Operating Systems: Servers (2008 R2, 2012 R2, 2016) and Workstations (Windows 7 and 10) on both PFPA's Life Safety Backbone (LSB) and Joint Service Provider hosted locations. * Perform Active Directory Services administration and management to include design, cleanup and routine maintenance and configuration. * Develop or lead oversight of update, documentation and management of GPOs across complex multiple domain, network environment * Manage, monitor and respond to alerting for systems and services maintained * Implement patches and upgrades to ensure server and workstation environment in compliance with DoD STIG and Information Assurance regulations. * Support implementation of Role Based Access Control (RBAC) * Lead or provide oversight to automation of system management and monitoring using SCCM and SCOM * Support some Linux systems and scripting. * Participate in System Administration On Call rotational support roster * Lead and manage oversight of troubleshooting and tiger team resolution of operational issues * Assist in leading documentation and adherence of operational execution in compliance with program and customer change and configuration management processes and procedures * Lead or support team in establishing standard operations and maintenance activities and procedures * Coordinate, monitor and provide status updates for day to day operational concerns to customers and program stakeholders * Provide tasking and direction to other operational team members in line with Program and Operational leadership and guidance Education: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
