Terran Orbital is currently seeking an Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) to join its team in Irvine, CA. In this role, the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) is responsible for developing system security documentation in support of authorization and continuous monitoring under the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) and coordinates with DAOs Data Owners, SAs, and devs for Security relevant changes to SSP's.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage Junior Information Assurance (IA) Employees
  • Provide expert level support to upcoming Proposals and Senior Management
  • Assist in other areas of Security to include, but not limited to, Personnel and Physical Security
  • Ensures systems are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with internal security policies and practices outlined in the System Security Plan
  • Ensures that all system users have the requisite security clearances, authorization, and need-to-know, and are aware of their security responsibilities before granting access
  • Review audit events for information systems and address events/incidents that occur with stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance for identifying, drafting, and submitting incident reports
  • Ensures all information system security-related documentation is current and accessible to properly authorized individuals
  • Monitor/maintain SSPs for hardware and software changes
  • Participate in internal / external security audits/inspections
  • Directs program system administrators on security matters

Requirements

  • Top Secret/SCI clearance is required
  • Working knowledge of DoDI 8500.2 Information Assurance."
  • Thorough understanding of NIST 800-53, NIST 800-37, DCID 6/3, and the NISPOM
  • Familiarity with the ICD503, CNSSI1253, NIST SP800-53
  • Experienced with government accreditation requirements
  • Experience in evaluating, testing, certification and accreditation of classified and sensitive but unclassified information systems.
  • Experienced with analysis and evaluation of hardware and software in support of the Intelligence Community (IC).
  • Able to apply current computer security technologies and IA requirements to maintain system security posture.
  • Responsible for maintaining and enforcing approved security policies, standards and guidelines
  • Experience working directly with project developers and/or subject matter experts to create security documentation
  • Proficient with MS Word, PowerPoint and working knowledge of various software tools
  • Experience formatting, editing, proofreading, and quality assurance checks on documents
  • Experience in identifying compliance issues, documentation, and incident reporting
  • DoD 8570 compliant IAM Level I certification, such as the CompTIA Security+ certification. A higher-level certification, such as GSLC, CAP, CASP, CISM and/or CISSP will also be accepted

The ideal candidate will have a well-rounded background in endpoint/network defenses and security incident response, as well as some offensive security knowledge to allow the ability to think like an adversary. The candidate will also have experience partnering with content development teams to resolve gaps in detection capabilities, as well as experience in conducting technical research and identifying methods to detect evolving Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs).</p><p>This role will serve as an incident responder to assess the risk, impact, and scope of identified security threats, as well as leading the response efforts to include containment, eradication, and recovery. Strong verbal and written communication skills are desired, in order to ensure thorough and accurate reporting during and concluding a security incident. The candidate will also play a major role in detecting advanced threats that are not detected via traditional security tools and understand how to operationalize cyber threat intelligence.
