Position Description:

CGI Federal is currently seeking an Information System Security Manager to work at the Elmendorf Air Base, AK location.

Full time personnel support is need for Information System Security Officer (ISSO) and Information System Security Manager (ISSM) level functions.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

  • Ensure that cybersecurity policy is implemented correctly on PACAF mission and training systems.

  • Performs as an alternate ISSO and assists with duties as an advisor on all matters, technical and otherwise, involving the security of information systems (IS) under purview.

  • Assist the development and oversight of optional IS security implementation policy and guidelines.

  • Assist the ISSM to obtain and maintain the authority or permission for systems to obtain a network authority to operate (ATO).

  • Physically inspects all existing network connections for compliance and coordinating on all new network requests within assigned purview. Ensures software, hardware, and connectivity complies with security regulations and guidelines on all new requirements.

  • Maintains a repository of all security authorizations for information systems under site's purview. Assists with semiannual staff assistance visits of all sites in the Site ISSM's purview and documents all findings, and recommends corrective actions and follow-up.

  • Assists in the interpretation and development of security operating procedures to protect networks, and other sensitive information.

  • Follow approved ISSO and ISSM procedures proven effective by AFLCMC/WNS for obtaining ATOs.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

  • DoD 8570.1 IAM-Level II certification (e.g., CAP, CASP CE, CISM, CISSP, GSLC)
  • Demonstrated experience with DoD and AF Certification and Accreditation policies, Department of Defense Instruction (DoDI) 8510.01, Risk Management Framework (RMF) for DoD 3 Information Technology, and AFI 17-101, The Risk Management Framework (RMF) for Air Force Information Technology
  • A Secret level security clearance is required

Security:

  • The selected applicants will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information

Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearance requirements, US citizenship is required.

SUMMARY: Bering Straits Information Technology LLC (BSIT), a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is seeking a System Technologist to support a shared Motorola P25, SmartZone system for federal, state and local government agencies. The System Technologist provides technical support and analysis of system software and hardware that includes operating systems and infrastructure components. Provide support and maintenance of a Motorola trunked SmartZone system using OEM skills and equipment knowledge. Perform maintenance and preventive maintenance actions on equipment. Tactfully and courteously interfaces with the customers in order to build strong business relationships. Quickly responds and implement resolutions for customer's system issues. NOTE: Relocation reimbursement is not applicable for this position. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position, and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. The System Technologist is responsible for providing on-site support for RF sites and console systems to include: * Repair, preventive maintenance inspections, upgrades and technical support. * Document findings and provide findings to the System Management Office. * Provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by 2-way radio, mobile phone, in written form, e-mail, or in person. * Provide an inventory of site equipment to the System Management Office. * This position requires 24-hour response and on-call responsibilities. * Travel includes using company truck, helicopter, snowmobile, or ATV to access work sites. * Travel of distances greater than 200 miles may be required. * Tower Rescue and Specialized Fall Protection certification desirable. * Load, unload, layout and prep tools/supplies/equipment/materials needed at each job site. * Other duties as assigned by the ALMR Program Manager and BSIT Operations Manager/Arcticom General Manager. QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND LICENSURE Required: * A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent Technical Diploma/OEM Certifications. * Applicant should have 5 years' experience supporting RF communications systems. * Proficient use of Windows applications and Operating Systems. * Good driving record with no significant vehicle traffic violations. * Already possess or the ability to obtain a valid Alaska driver's license. * Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills. The ability to be at work consistently and predictably. * Observance of a level of personal hygiene/appearance that meets generally accepted business standards and expectations. Preferred: * Experience with Motorola radio systems, P25, SmartZone, and Land Mobile Radio systems. * Fundamental knowledge of RF, wired/wireless communications systems, networking equipment, microwave, signals and electronics testing. * Experience as an Electronics Technician, System Technologist, or Field Service Technician. * Possess excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills. * Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the field. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Good working knowledge of communications systems with the ability to interface with the customer's technical people and provide appropriate technical support. * Must be physically capable of performing the essential work duties. * Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions. * Not afraid of heights and willing to travel. * Climbing ability is required. * Good work ethic and strong team worker. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must maintain a constant state of mental alertness at all times. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. This position is physically demanding. The System Tech must be able to carry test equipment, tools, and site equipment in excess of 40 pounds from mode of transportation to the work site. Travel includes the use of company truck, helicopter, snowmobile, or ATV to get to sites. Climbing ladders, antenna towers to heights of 150 feet while wearing bulky safety gear and carrying an equipment bag. Technicians may be required to shovel out sites and wear snow shoes to gain access to work areas. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Job sites are statewide within Alaska. Areas include office settings, working closely with the Customer, and third party contractors, to outdoor remote work sites on the ground, rooftops and towers. Outdoor work sites include antenna towers, ridgelines, and villages. Weather conditions can vary significantly from site to site, especially in the winter. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS: As a condition of employment employee required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results.
