Information Support Services & Networking/Vocational School

Cape Tech is hiring a teacher for its Information Technologies Program. Candidates should possess strong coaching, communication, and leadership skills along with content knowledge and industry experience in computing infrastructure.

This includes cloud services, servers, networks, client devices, web services/software, security and development. Experience should include working with high school students or young adults. Familiarity with TestOut and CompTIA certifications is helpful.

Industry certifications including but not limited to CompTIA, Cisco, Adobe, Amazon(AWS), etc... will strengthen candidacy. A willingness to collaborate with colleagues is required.

TAKE NOTE: This is not a technology integration job or trainer for end user applications. We prepare our students for immediate entry into the information technology field or for further education at colleges/universities.

Candidates must possess, or have the credentials to pursue, Massachusetts Vocational Technical Teacher Licensure in Information Support Services & Networking. Candidates that are not currently licensed can be hired on a waiver if they have at least an associate degree in an IT related field and a minimum of 4 years of full-time industry experience (or 3 years full-time industry experience with a bachelor's). Experience in teaching is preferred. Licensed candidates are desired, but it is common in vocational education for industry professionals to enter teaching on a waiver and then pursue necessary coursework over time to earn licensure.- Citizenship, residency or work visa required

• Must pass MA fingerprinting check

• If not already licensed as a Chapter 74 Information Support Services & Networking teacher, must eventually pass the licensing exams and also enroll in teacher preparation courses in order to become fully licensed
