What you'll be doing

Information Analyst supporting the enterprise Historian focusing on:

  • Make significant contributions to asset business results

  • Work impacts beyond direct customer team boundaries

  • Provides leadership in championing projects/ideas that contribute to and are aligned with key strategies

  • Mentors and develops self and team. Works with less senior employees to leverage skills

  • Customer focused

  • Innovates on work processes based on trend analysis. Identifies major process improvement opportunities and implements to effect team and asset/ department level results

  • Learning new tools and transferring knowledge among team members and customers (example: learning tools, CI, best practices, business theories, information technology)

  • Analyzes data to create break-through solutions. Able to completely integrate multi-dimensional (multi-source) data

  • Exceptional troubleshooting and lean skills

  • Own the Landscape/architecture diagram depicting the network, domain, communications, and server names.

  • Lead cross-discipline teams to define and create enhancements which will enable us to meet our strategic objectives

  • Ensure the system and data align with security and enterprise architecture standards

  • Continuously improve by eliminating waste and optimizing business processes

  • Vendor stewardship

  • May require some afterhours and weekend on-call support

Required Skills

  • Microsoft Office

  • Exceptional knowledge of time-series historians

  • Great technical knowledge of enterprise networks and related hardware/software

  • Exceptional knowledge of programming syntax and languages: SQL, Regex, C, C++, Python

  • Knowledge of supervisory control and data acquisition software, Ignition

  • Ability and willingness to travel to field locations on an occasional basis


  • Technical understanding of data modeling, design, and architectural principles and techniques

  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies: Lean, Six Sigma

  • Ability to write SSRS or Tableau reports

  • Familiarity with oil industry

  • Must be authentic by being genuine and real; combining candor with care. Staying true and committed to Aera and the community

  • Must be resilient by recognizing that change is constant. The ability to persevere and excel in the face of adversity by turning chalenges ito opportunities

Required Experience

  • Extensive experience with real-time data protocols utilizing OPC-DA, OPC-UA, MQTT, RDBMS

  • Business analysis capabilities e.g., requirements gathering, problem solving, etc

  • Experience with PI and Canary

  • A degree in Computer Science or other related field and/or minimum equivalent experience of three years working in an IT or Business environment

The primary assignment for Health Information Technology courses will be taught in an online format, but may include teaching courses at various locations, different times, and with different modalities. Bakersfield College offers college courses in the greater Bakersfield area, rural communities, correctional facilities and high schools using the following modalities: traditional, face-to-face, online and interactive broadcasts. Other duties include: participation in student recruitment and articulation of programs for Allied Health; maintaining subject matter currency; developing and revising curriculum; using computer and multimedia technology; assessing student learning and program learning outcomes; collegial participation in department, college, and discipline-specific professional activities. Desirable Qualifications: * Successful teaching of ICD-10 and CPT courses * Experience with Canvas or other online learning management system * Ability and willingness to participate effectively in college committee work and in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities to support students and the college. * Ability to provide leadership within the program and on college initiatives to improve student learning.
