The Eugene Water & Electric Board (EWEB) is seeking an Information Services (IS) Supervisor to provide leadership and supervision in the delivery of technology services. The successful candidate will manage the day-to-day operations as well as directly support the implementation of capital improvement projects.

The supervisor will lead a team composed of Infrastructure Architect, Senior Network Administrators, Network Administrators and Network Technicians in the delivery of Network and Datacenter Operations in alignment with organizational operational and strategic goals and values. The IS Supervisor must demonstrate strong supervisory experience and foundational knowledge in the operations of network design, datacenter operations, and infrastructure management. This position provides the supervisor the opportunity to implement process improvements, operational efficiencies, and establish a standard of practice in delivering quality services.

This role includes ongoing engagement with business leaders to understand their business opportunities, prioritize these opportunities within the program portfolio and then translate them into work plans or projects to the supporting teams. The IS Supervisor is expected to oversee these activities through accountability, cooperation, and inclusion within their team and in partnership with other cross-functional IS supervisors and their respective teams.

The technology focus will be both datacenter operations and network infrastructure, experience working within these environments is beneficial to the position.

Key Activities:

  • Manage day-to-day network and datacenter services to optimal efficiency

  • Decrease incidents and increase up-time of network and datacenter infrastructure

  • Manage the teams work backlog with clear task description, prioritizes, and workplans

  • Work collaboratively across the organization to achieve business outcomes

  • Supervise the team to maximum efficiency, quality, and productivity

  • Develop service KPI and other metrics to promote service and resource accountability

  • Oversee projects through to completion, ensuring team adherence to project goals

  • Partner with other IS Teams to achieve optimal service performance

  • Analyze risk and impact to the business, and recommend changes

  • Understand the business processes Information Services supports

  • Identify system and team process improvement areas and mentor team to resolution

  • Monitor the health of the team, recognizing and acting to improve team health, encouraging employee engagement

Key Competencies:

Elicitation Techniques: Engage with business leaders and internal customers to understanding service opportunities

Facilitation Techniques: Establish communications channels and methods specific to the objectives of each problem to be solve and needs of the audience

Impact Analysis: Understand the rationale behind changes across the technical ecosystem and impacts to business operations

Requirements Management: Control work associated with requirements elicitation, requirements analysis and design, and requirements life cycle management

Technical Domain: Understand technical architecture, design, and service delivery in relations to business processes and functions of datacenter operations

Minimum Training and Experience Required:

Minimum Experience: Eight years of progressively responsible work experience in a directly related functional field which includes four years of direct supervision in a multi-functional work environment OR an equivalent combination of professional, senior, lead, or project management experience may satisfy the supervisor requirement.

Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a directly related technical field or an equivalent combination of education plus additional job related experience may be qualifying.

Equivalency: An equivalent combination of experience and training that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be qualifying.

The starting salary for this position is $121,281 - $161,709 commensurate with knowledge, skills, education, and experience as it relates to the position.

Telecommuting:

This position is based in Eugene, Oregon; however, it has been approved as a hybrid work arrangement involving a combination of telecommuting and working on-site; the selected candidate must live in the state of Oregon.
