Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented ISSO II to join our team! In this role you will get to advise and assist with secure configuration management and operations of the customer's IT assets.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Performs assessments of systems and networks within the networking environment or enclave and identifies where those systems/networks deviate from acceptable configurations, enclave policy, or local policy. This is achieved through passive evaluations (compliance audits) and active evaluations (vulnerability assessments).

  • Establishes strict program control processes to ensure mitigation of risks and supports for obtaining certification and accreditation of systems. This includes process support, analysis support, coordination support, security certification test support, security documentation support, investigations, software research, hardware introduction and release, emerging technology research inspections, and periodic audits.

  • Assists in the implementation of required government policy (e.g.,, NISPOM, DCID 6/3), and makes recommendations on process tailoring.

  • Supports the formal Security Test & Evaluation (ST&E) required by each government accrediting authority through pre-test preparations, participation in the tests, analysis of the results, and preparation of required reports.

  • Performs analyses to validate established security requirements and recommends additional security requirements and safeguards where required.

  • Periodically conducts a review of each system's audits and monitors corrective actions until all actions are closed.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Active Top Secret/SCI Security clearance with Polygraph

  • Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of work experience or equivalent; Associates Degree and 6 years of work experience or equivalent; High School/GED and 8 years of work experience.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Provide guidance on system security, assessment and authorization issues, and INFOSEC policy and security vulnerabilities.

  • Support comprehensive investigations into all related data spills and IT incidents at both government and contractor sites.

  • Ability to troubleshoot technical configurations and make recommendations on the protection of classified and sensitive data.

  • Development and maintenance of all SSP documentation and risk analysis.

  • Responsible reporting of security related incidents including development of protective or corrective measures to discover vulnerabilities.

  • Familiarity with conducting research and analysis, network and information system security principles and best practices, and controlling, labeling, virus scanning, and transferring data between information systems at varying classification levels.

Salary Range: $67,400.00 - $118,000.00

Qualified Candidates must be willing to relocate to Denver, CO.</p><p>Responsibilities</p><p>The Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) will work on Defensive Cyber Operations for Space (DCO-S) providing expertise and support in network security engineering and/or integration of security products. This is a fast-paced and highly challenging position where you will be a member of a team. The ISSO is responsible for ensuring the appropriate operational security posture is maintained for the assigned IT. This includes the following activities related to maintaining situational awareness and initiating actions to improve or restore cybersecurity posture. The ISSO:</p><ul><li><p>Implements and enforce all AF cybersecurity policies, procedures, and countermeasures</p></li><li><p>Completes and maintains required cybersecurity certification IAW AFMAN 17-1303 Individuals in this position must be U.S. citizens</p></li><li><p>Ensures all users have the requisite security clearances and need-to-know, complete annual cybersecurity training, and are aware of their responsibilities before being granted access to the IT according to AFMAN 17-1301</p></li><li><p>Maintains all authorized user access control documentation IAW the applicable AF Records Information Management System</p></li><li><p>Ensures software, hardware, and firmware complies with appropriate security configuration guidelines (e.g., security technical implementation guides /security requirement guides)</p></li><li><p>Ensures proper configuration management procedures are followed prior to implementation and contingent upon necessary approval</p></li><li><p>Coordinate changes or modifications with the system-level ISSM, SCA, and/or the Wing Cybersecurity office</p></li><li><p>Initiates protective or corrective measures, in coordination with the ISSM, when a security incident or vulnerability is discovered</p></li><li><p>Reports security incidents or vulnerabilities to the system-level ISSM and wing cybersecurity office according to AFI 17-203, Cyber Incident Handling</p></li><li><p>Initiates exceptions, deviations, or waivers to cybersecurity requirements</p></li><li><p>Local area travel: 30%</p></li></ul><p>Education/Qualifications</p><ul><li><p>Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Security, Engineering, Mathematics or a related technical field is desired.
