Mount Aloysius College, recognized by ModernThink as a 2022 and 2023 "Great College to Work For," invites qualified applicants to join our IT team as an Information Security Specialist.

The Information Security Specialist will work diligently to protect the digital infrastructure of the College. This position is responsible for analyzing network systems and structures to ensure the most secure approach is continuously employed; ensure security tools are functioning properly on college networks and devices; and liaise with departments across campus to confirm adherence to College security protocols.

The successful candidate will develop and implement systems for specialized security requirements based on needs specific to the College. Also researches emerging threats and potential safeguards, and presents findings, reports, and solutions to the Director of IT. Performs internal and external vulnerability scans and penetration tests, and addresses concerns in a timely manner as they are discovered. The Information Security Specialist is responsible to assist the Systems and Network Administrators with security-related duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity or related field required. At least two (2) years of experience in the field of Cybersecurity required.

Strong working knowledge of security information, network data, antivirus, firewalls, and intrusion detection concepts related to the field required. Ability to remain patient and professional, particularly when working through complex situations. Must be able to diagnose and troubleshoot security issues, determine appropriate solutions, and escalate complex issues when necessary. Ability to work collaboratively with others is a must.

Occasional weekend or evening hours required on an as needed basis.

This is a full-time, 12-month benefit eligible position. While some flexibility in scheduling and the opportunity for periodic remote days exists, this position is on campus in Cresson, PA and is not eligible for remote work. This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship at this time; all candidates must be authorized to work in the US at the time of submission of their application.
