The purpose of the Information Security Officer is to help create , execute, and enforce policies and procedures that protect our organization's computing and data infrastructure from all forms of unauthorized access. You will be responsible for identifying vulnerabilities and working with our IT department to implement resolutions, ensuring that our network and data remains secure. In the unlikely event of a security breach, you will lead the organization in carrying out the plan of action in accordance with approved security policies and procedures.

To be successful as an Information Security Officer, you should have expert analytical skills and an in-depth knowledge of best practices to prevent a wide range of security threats. Top candidates will also be excellent communicators, able to train and educate our staff in various information security topics.

Job Duties:

  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive plan for information security management.

  • Monitoring network usage to ensure compliance with security policies.

  • Keeping up to date with developments in IT security standards and threats.

  • Performing penetration tests, identifying potential vulnerabilities, and taking action to minimize our threat surfaces.

  • Collaborating with management and the IT department to improve security.

  • Leading our technical incident response team.

  • Educating colleagues about security software and best practices for information security.

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree in Computer Science or a related field.

  • Professional information security certification.

  • Experience in an information security role.

  • Solid knowledge of various information security frameworks.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Ability to educate a non-technical audience about various security measures.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

As the Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO), you will be responsible for maintaining compliance with applicable security regulations and leading the security program for various Department of Defense (DoD), Special Access Program (SAP) and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) programs maintaining compliance and being a solutions provider. Responsibilities: * Develop, train and maintain personnel on facility standard operating procedures (SOP) and other appropriate guidelines * Administer self- inspections for security audits and develop a corrective action plan * Perform duties as the Top Secret Control Officer including executing a TS accountability program and submitting inventory reports annually * Establish and maintain all office and security documents in accordance with government requirements and provide weekly updates to the customer * Manage Program Indoctrination and Debriefings. Assist obtaining information for PARs and review packages for accuracy * Maintain access control rosters and establish a visitor control program giving guidance to the Access Control Security Specialist (24/7/365 access) * Initiate, process, and maintain clearances through JPAS, scattered castles and other special access sites * Oversee the Media Control plan which includes maintaining and submitting a current inventory of all media annually * Prepare, transmit, and maintain visit certification letters * Coordinate with customer security representative for processing and maintaining employee clearances * Responsible for document control functions and develops procedures to ensure all materials and media contain proper classification markings, wrapping, cover sheets, handling and transmission of classified data is in accordance with security guidelines. Prepare documents for external distribution and processing. Prepare receipts and assist with wrapping as needed * Establish and oversee specialized procedures for transmission of material by secure fax, courier and registered mail. Develop and maintain a log of outgoing/incoming material * Oversee escort duties to ensure mail retrieved weekly. Pick up mail as needed. Prepare courier authorization documentation. Perform courier services as needed * Conduct document control functions including developing and overseeing receipt and dispatch requirements, organizing original and copies of documents, providing document holdings lists, managing and improving SIMS database, and assist in timely locating documents assigned to others/offices * Oversee and assist functions assigned to the Security Specialist * Assist with entering data into the physical security tracking database as needed * Manage the access control system which includes creating inventorying badges, and ensuring maintenance is scheduled as needed * Manage and create annual security refresher training Desired Qualifications: * Recent practical experience supporting DoD, SAP and / or SCI security programs. * Thorough knowledge of DoD 5205.07 v 1-4, DoD 5105.21 v 1-3, IC Tech Spec for ICD/ICS 705, DNI Directives, NISPOM and other applicable security regulations and requirements * Ability to develop and execute security policy, plans and procedures, to include completion of a Physical Accreditation package. * Experience supporting information systems, knowledge of RMF packages and the roles supporting the generation and administration of a system. * Excellent organizational and communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with staff at all levels. * Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment, with a focus on customer service and high regard to details and processes.
