HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

As part of Oregon Tool's shared information technology services, the Information Security Engineer is responsible for maintaining the corporate wide information security management program to ensure that information assets are adequately protected. You would assess and manage the information security environment, implementing new technologies, and serve as a communication liaison with the global IT team.

THE DETAILS

  • Assist with the creation and management of security strategies, technology and capability roadmap, policies, and processes.

  • Continuous assessment and impact of current technology architecture for vulnerabilities, weaknesses and for possible upgrades or improvements

  • Administer information security audits performed internally by the organization or third-party personnel.

  • Serve as a security focal point of contact for the IT team and the customer or organization.

  • Communicate information security goals and new programs effectively to gain alignment with IT leadership.

  • Execute Team Member cybersecurity awareness training program.

  • Detect, measure, and report on the technical aspects of security management and operational components of incident management.

  • Manage outsourced vendors that provide information security functions for compliance with contracted service-level agreements.

  • Address the day-to-day activities of threat and vulnerability management, identify risk tolerances, recommend treatment plans and communicate information about residual risk.

  • Ensure audit trails, system logs and other monitoring data sources are reviewed periodically and comply with policies and audit requirements.

  • Design, coordinate, and oversee security-testing procedures. Verify the security of systems, networks, and applications. Manage the remediation of identified vulnerabilities.

  • Liaise among internal teams and external vendors to ensure compliance and a strong security posture.

  • Collaborate with IT staff to ensure that security is factored into the evaluation, selection, installation and configuration of hardware, applications, and software.

  • Recommend and coordinate the implementation of technical controls to support and enforce defined security policies.

  • Research, evaluate, design, test, recommend or plan the implementation of new or updated information security hardware or software, and analyze its impact on the existing environment; provide technical and managerial expertise for the administration of security tools.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • A bachelor's degree in information systems or equivalent work experience; information security emphasis preferred.

  • One or more Information Security Certifications (i.e. CISSP, CISA, CISM, CBCP, or GIAC)

  • A minimum of 5 years of IT experience, preferability working in an Systems Engineer Role, with 3 years in an information security role.

  • A thorough understanding of networks and networking technologies is required (WAN, LAN, WIFI). Experience with SASE would be a plus.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and data management software (SAP preferred)

  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant legal and regulatory requirements, such as National Information Assurance Policy, Cloud Security Policy, etc.

The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Oregon Tool, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $94,400.00 - $150,100.00.
