Summary/Function:

The Information Security Engineer is responsible for implementing, administering, and continually enhancing information security solutions that safeguard Firm, client, and employee information. The role is highly collaborative involving frequent interactions with various members of the Firm's IT groups necessary to execute on most of the duties listed below. The Information Security Engineer will ensure solutions are correctly sized, implemented in a manner to reduce risk, and enable successful business outcomes.

Experience and Skills

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience in information security.

  • 3+ years of information security or equivalent in IT or IT risk management.

  • One or more security-specific certifications (Security+, SSCP, GSEC, CySA+, etc.).

  • Exceptional written, oral and presentation communication skills.

  • Ability to track, prioritize and complete tasks as assigned.

  • Ability to work in a high performance, team-oriented setting.

  • Experience in agile project management methodologies and techniques.

  • Functional understanding of networks, network protocols, network solutions, and zero trust networking fundamentals.

  • Competency in at least one scripting language.

  • Understanding of enterprise endpoint detection and protection solutions including EPP, EDR, encryption, deception and DLP.

  • Understanding of network protection technologies such as firewalls, WAF, and IDS/IPS.

  • In-depth understanding of server-class operating systems and applications including cloud-based solutions.

  • Ability to understand and act on risk-based assessments and regulatory compliance requirements.

Duties:

  • Evaluate, implement, administer, and continually enhance security solutions to meet base compliance/regulatory requirements and effectively reduce security risk to acceptable levels.

  • Provide support and expertise in various security operations and engineering functions, including monitoring security solutions and reports, anomaly detection, and output interpretation.

  • Effectively treat security risks stemming from audits, assessments, penetration tests, etc.

  • Participate as a member of the Firm's Cybersecurity Incident Response Team (CIRT) including the preparation of controls and identification, containment, eradication, recovery, and review of security incidents.

  • Respond to monitoring requests in a manner that adheres to best practices in regard to maintaining a forensically sound process that preserves the integrity of the information requested.

  • Ensure security solutions meet resiliency needs through high availability and/or fault tolerant engineering practices.

  • Responsible for documenting security solution standards, procedures, and guidelines in addition to training relevant staff on properly using security solutions.

  • Research and implement standards and best practices including maintaining vendor relationships and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity standards and industry regulations.

  • Collaborate with other IT teams to address security escalations and liaise with vendors as needed.

  • Assist in managing escalated IT service incidents, requests, and problems while strictly adhering to technology change management practices.

  • Provide routine reports/metrics to ensure security solutions continually deliver intended value.

  • Participate in on-call rotations to provide security support after normal working hours.

  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.

The potential pay range for this role is $80,000 - $90,000. The compensation offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis considering a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the skills, relevant work experience, and geographic location of each specific candidate. Additional incentive compensation may be earned based on performance.
