Position: Firewall Administrator
Location: Richmond VA 23219 (Hybrid Schedule)
Duration: 8+ Months Contract
Job Description:
Information Security Analyst
Client is seeking an experienced Firewall Administrator for implementation, maintenance, and operational support of large enterprise networks.
General Job Responsibilities:
Analyze and resolve technical problems for established environments.
Perform maintenance and changes on firewalls as required.
Provide remediation solutions for issues related to Network infrastructure and systems.
Perform special project related tasks as assigned in a timely manner with acceptable level of quality.
Follow documented processes, procedures, and policies.
Daily Interaction with multiple end users, teammates, leadership.
Participation in on-call support rotation with other team members.
Other related duties as assigned as needed.
Position Primary Responsibilities:
Device Patch Management:
Apply security patches and updates to firewall devices to ensure protection against vulnerabilities.
Monitor patch management processes and maintain an up-to-date inventory of firewall devices.
Policy Change Control:
Review, plan, and implement firewall policy change requests.
Ensure that policy modifications align with security best practices and organizational requirements.
Required Job Qualifications:
Must have 1 to 2 years hands operational experience using ServiceNow ticketing system or equivalent system. [redact appropriately for confidentiality but please screen for specifics noted here]
Troubleshooting skills including log analytics and packet inspection.
Experience managing firewalls across a large enterprise and remote deployments.
Demonstrated ability to complete strategic infrastructure projects, provide status updates to management, and successfully complete a wide range of infrastructure projects.
Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with individuals and groups both within and external to the company to achieve desired results, analyze an issue/problem, and make recommendations for an effective and efficient resolution.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proven commitment to providing excellent customer service within all dimensions of the job duties on a consistent basis.
Passion for self-development/personal growth.
Motivated and able to work effectively under average supervision in fast-paced environment.
Strict adherence to change management policy and procedure.
Comprehension of current cyber security best practices.
Must have:

Checkpoint experience
Juniper Netscreen experience
Scripting/coding
Experience with network break/fix of layer 2 and 3 environments.
Education and certifications/licensures are required:
High school degree required. Information Security degree preferred
Pay Range: $37 - $40 Hourly
The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
