POSITION SUMMARY

The Department of Central Management Services (CMS) is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Agency Information Risk Officer to join our team. This critical role is responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of CMS digital assets and infrastructure. Key responsibilities include reviewing Security Operations Center (SOC) reports, conducting security audits, and leading security awareness training initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, technologies, and best practices. POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Under administrative direction of the Central Management Services (CMS) Director of Information Strategy, serves as the CMS Information Risk Officer safeguarding to ensure the security and integrity of CMS digital assets and infrastructure.

  • Researches, develops, and implements an Agency Cybersecurity Plan.

  • Researches, develops, and creates an Agency Cybersecurity Training Plan with training materials.

  • Serves as a point of contact and liaison to the DoIT cybersecurity team and agency Chief Information Officer (CIO).

  • Implements and risk-manages access control mechanisms and enhances user authentication solutions.

  • Monitors information risks to ensure compliance with statutes, industry standards, and best practices.

  • Manages information security documentation.

  • Monitors, reviews, and analyzes Security Operations Center (SOC) reports where appropriate.

  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college.

  • Requires prior experience equivalent to three years of progressively responsible administrative experience in information security, risk management, or related for a public or business organization and training of staff

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prefers extensive knowledge of cybersecurity principles, technologies, and best practices.

  • Prefers extensive knowledge of security tools and technologies and Cybersecurity Training Plans.

  • Prefers a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) certification.

  • Prefers three (3) years' professional experience demonstrating effective problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Prefers three (3) years' professional experience working both independently and as part of a team demonstrating effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Prefers three (3) years' professional experience demonstrating integrity-driven decision making while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality.

  • Prefers a master's degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field.

CONIDTIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Requires completion of a background check and self-disclosure of criminal history.

  • Overtime is a condition of employment, and you may be requested or required/mandated to work overtime including scheduled, unscheduled, or last-minute overtime. This may require the ability to work evenings and weekends. This also requires the ability to work in a 24 hour 'on call' capacity.

  • Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate.

  • Requires ability to attend seminars, conferences, and trainings to stay current on methods, tools, ideologies, or other industry related topics relevant to the job duties.

  • Requires the ability to use agency supplied equipment (i.e., mobile phone, laptop, etc.).
